Now that Adrian White has committed to the Horns, who's gonna be #21?
Rivals Nat'l Rank in ()

RB - Lache Seastrunk 5-11, 185, 4.40 (2)
WR -Darius White 6-4, 205, 4.45 (3)
DE - Jackson Jeffcoat 6-5, 230, 4.7 (6)
WR - Trovon Reed 6-0 175, 4.4 (14)
LB - Jordan Hicks 6-2, 215, 4.6 (16)
DE -Reggie Wilson 6-4, 240, 4.65 (20)
LB - Corey Nelson 6-0, 210, 4.6 (24)
OL - Jake Matthews 6-5, 275 (62)
WR - DeMarco Cobbs 6-2, 200, 4.45 (80)

Mack & Co. seem to be setting their sights on mainly top 100 national guys after his impressive early haul.

Would LOVE to have these 3

RB - Lache Seastrunk 5-11, 185, 4.40 (2)
WR -Darius White 6-4, 205, 4.45 (3)
DE - Jackson Jeffcoat 6-5, 230, 4.7 (6)

Here, Reggie, Reggie, Reggie...come on....you know you want to commit soon....

Yeah, I will go with Mr. Wilson as #21.

Will someone take this list and give me our chances (%) at each:

RB - Lache Seastrunk 5-11, 185, 4.40 (2)
WR -Darius White 6-4, 205, 4.45 (3)
DE - Jackson Jeffcoat 6-5, 230, 4.7 (6)
WR - Trovon Reed 6-0 175, 4.4 (14)
LB - Jordan Hicks 6-2, 215, 4.6 (16)
DE -Reggie Wilson 6-4, 240, 4.65 (20)
LB - Corey Nelson 6-0, 210, 4.6 (24)
OL - Jake Matthews 6-5, 275 (62)
WR - DeMarco Cobbs 6-2, 200, 4.45 (80)

Biggest needs (% chance we get 'em):
- Seastrunk (30%)
- One of Hicks (10%)/Nelson (15%)
- One of Wilson (80%)/Jeffcoat (40%)
- Darius White (70%)
- The other of Wilson/Jeffcoat
- DeMarco Cobbs (25%)
- Jake Matthews (40%)
- The other of Hicks/Nelson

These percentages are pulled out of my posterior.

I think you're thinking of DeAndrew White, out of North Shore. From what I understand, he's got issues that are not insurmountable. But we've basically got 4-5 guys and 1 slot.

The only way to go. Only problem, take more than 20 you get less next year, but that's ok.

This class is going to be epic and, best of all, it is coming at the Sooners' expense.

I am shamelessly stealing the following data from MATF, who posted it on Orangebloods.

With the first release of the Rivals 250, Texas sits with 16 players on that list. Sixteen!! For a little perspective, consider how many Rivals 250 players each of the top 25 classes from the '09 class signed. (Note, Bryce Brown is not included here) Here they are in reverse order:

25. Texas anm -- 1
23. Virginia Tech -- 3
23. Auburn -- 3
20. Michigan State -- 4
20. Arkansas -- 4
20. Ole Miss -- 4
16. Penn State -- 5
16. Miss State -- 5
16. South Carolina -- 5
16. Stanford -- 5
11. Florida -- 7
11. Oklahoma -- 7
11. Tennessee -- 7
11. UCLA -- 7
11. Notre Dame -- 7
9. Florida State -- 8
9. Miami -- 8
7. North Carolina -- 10
7. Texas -- 10
6. LSU -- 11
5. Georgia -- 12
2. Alabama -- 13
2. USC -- 13
2. Michigan -- 13
1. OSU -- 14

I think its safe to say that we have a top 5 class even if we were to not get a commitment from a single other player -- maybe even a top 3 class. Consider this: the amazing '07 Texas class that led the nation in number of signees from the Rivals 250 had 18. Also, Notre Dame's '08 class that led the nation in Rivlas 250 signees finished with 16.

Emeritus, great info...glad you borrowed it from MATF.

I think (like many) that Reggie Wilson will be #21. After that it gets mirky and complicated.

#21 - Darius White or DeMarco Cobbs. White is more coveted and from Texas so I think he'll be next. Especially since Cobbs might be coming to the Spring game. I know they are both ultra talented, but only one will opt to come to Austin. Watching film of White made me think "This kid has something special and I hope he comes to Texas because with GG throwing the ball he has the potential to be another Randy Moss (on the field...receiving and returning kicks)".

#22 - Jordan Hicks. Hicks was supposed to be one of the "locks" people talked about before the 1st junior day. Has since backed off because he wants to think on it a little more. I hope he's thought on it and wants to get the process over with and join the #1 class in 2010. Imagine the LB corps with Jackson, Benson and Hicks running around....WOW!!! All three hit and run extremely well....it'll almost be unfair.

Cherry on Top between Seastrunk, Jeffcoat & Matthews.
#23 - Lache Seastrunk. After rewatching some of his film and analyzing depth charts at USC, LSU and Texas....I think this kid will eventually choose the Horns because....1. He can play early (too good & fast not to), 2. Closer to home, 3) GG & Major will talk to him and make it clear he'll get plenty of touches, 4) Winning at Texas is more fun and makes you legendary....ask VY or any of the players from the 05' team.

groverat.. i think the percentages are like this (i agree with your biggest needs):

-Wilson 75% (TCU is not out of this)
-Da White 70% we absolutely have to have this stud WR
-Favors 50% pretty much depends on if we offer, and i think we will (if it were up to me i'd save the ship for hicks/nelson or bust)
-De White 40% i don't think we're out of it, and if the coaches see his grades are better he may be a late offer if we have the ship
-Hicks 40% we are in a good position, but any little slip-up like him missing a ride to austin and not making it for an unofficial and we're going to go with the safe instate guy (see Favors)
-Jeffcoat 35% who knows with this guy. would be great to get such as great talent
-Cobbs 30% he loves us, but we'll see how much love the coaches give him when he finally is able to make it
-Matthews 25% could happen i guess. not a need position, but would be a kick to the gut to aggy
-Nelson 5% don't think it's going to happen

My apologies. I meant...

#21 Reggie Wilson
#22 Darius White
#23 Jordan Hicks
#24 Lache Seastrunk

Not a bad foursome to end with.

White in March/April, Wilson during the summer and two relative unknowns late in the year. Kiss the other high fliers goodbye. (These predictions were pulled out of my peduncle.)

My prediction: #21 = Reggie Wilson. Then we'll be done at DE, because we already have Okafor coming in this fall.

Colt McVince,

I think you are correct about Wilson and White. Those are the only two TEXAS really has a hope of signing. The rest are way, way off long shots. My thinking is this class is pretty much done and completed. Mack and company are already working on 2011 recruits. TEXAS might sign a couple more but I bet they are not any of :

RB - Lache Seastrunk 5-11, 185, 4.40 (2) no
WR -Darius White 6-4, 205, 4.45 (3) maybe
DE - Jackson Jeffcoat 6-5, 230, 4.7 (6) no
WR - Trovon Reed 6-0 175, 4.4 (14) no
LB - Jordan Hicks 6-2, 215, 4.6 (16) no
DE -Reggie Wilson 6-4, 240, 4.65 (20) maybe
LB - Corey Nelson 6-0, 210, 4.6 (24) no
OL - Jake Matthews 6-5, 275 (62) no
WR - DeMarco Cobbs 6-2, 200, 4.45 (80) no

The next couple of recruits might be on the top 250 but I bet they are not anyone we are currently expecting, except for Wilson or White. Just my opinion and TEXAS track record with Mack Brown and signing highly ranked recruits the longer the process drags on into the year. It just does not happen.

Now for my Christmas wish of a lifetime I want Seastrunk, White, Jeffcoat, Reed, Hicks, Wilson, Nelson, Matthews, and Cobbs all to sign with the Horns. Come on now Santa Claus Hook'em for us one time.

Let me say that this absolutely DID NOT come out of my a$$. (They came out of a little bottle I had last night).
Lache-10%
Jeffcoat10%
Wilson 90%
White 50%
Because of the number of WR already taken, I think the ship has sailed on Cobbs. (Too bad really).

Well then, recruit him as an OL if that's what it takes. Seriously. if Cobbs really wants to be here, somebody scoot over a little & make some room.
The guy is a serious badass, & I don't want to see him on the other sidline at the Cotton Bowl.

HOOK 'EM,
Texdoc
