NB,Heres a stat for you. In game 4, with the series on the line essentially at 2-1, and the big 3 having by far their worst game together in this playoffs or maybe any other playoffs...... Dirk was 0-6 from the field in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Sit on that for a while when you try and bring up past stats about dirks "killer instinct". If it wasnt for Jason Terry coming back last night off of a bum ankle and lighting it up from 3, this game would have gotten really ugly.

Yea, and I saw Dirk passing up shots he normally takes. Like when he is faced up 1-1 against MCDyss, and he waits for the double, then passes out. Granted a few of those passes were to Terry for 3's, but Mavs were running the offense through him and he was giving the ball up.

Dirk is a top tier NBA superstar and a great guy. Jordan would have 0 titles if he played with the supporting cast Dirk has had his entire career.
I’d be a big Dirk fan if he didn’t have the misfortune of playing for Douchecock Cuban.

I would say dirk had a pretty subpar game in game 2 as well but what does it matter. You made these points before the series started. Excuse me for coming back on here to show evidence of my initial point in a game that was essentially the biggest game of this series. With the way the spurs were playing, Dirk had every oppurtunity to take this game over and help even this series up for your mavs. But he passed up shot after shot. I mean......6 shots from the field in the 2nd half? From a "clutch" player in the biggest game of the series, thats just laughable my friend.

And Jordan would have won plenty of championships with these teams that the mavs have put together. He made the players around him better. Dirk is a statistical force and a matchup nightmare, but i dont think you can say the same about him. Its alright though man, i know you had to get back on here and defend yourself.

You can call me a moron all you want but i don't think you're understanding what i was saying at the end of my last post. Dirk doesnt make the players around him better. Im not saying Dirk is the "reason" this series is 3-1 (it has alot more to do with the fact that you guys don't have anybody on your roster that can stay with our backcourt), but the mavs have a fine supporting cast around Dirk. No more than a week ago all the taking heads were talking about how this is by far the best team that Dirk has ever played on blah blah blah and how the spurs had absolutely no chance, yet now the mavs find themselves 3-1 after a game that im sure all mavs players/fanbase felt like they should have won (especially when you consider the fact that you had a 15 pt halftime lead), and in that game your franchise player attenpted 10 shots, 6 in the 2nd half. He's played outstanding in games 1 and 3, yet in game 2 he played very below average and last night, like i said he had no sense of urgency in a do or die game.

And just like the other poster said, i'd like to know how many championships YOU think Dirk would have with the 90s era bulls because according to you, even Michael Jordan, the greatest player to ever play the game, wouldnt have any championships with any of the mavs teams dirk has had? But im the moron

NB,
I posted on another thread that Dirk, although a great player and sure fire Hall of Famer is Robin not Batman. He's like Gasol when he was in Memphis. He needs a Kobe or Jordan. I remember last year in the playoffs when he was substituted for during crunch time when the Mavs needed a defensive stop. When you have to take your leader out when everything is on the line, is he really a leader?

Tim Duncan had Robinson (HOF) plus Manu and Parker (all stars) on his tittle teams. Olajuwon had Drexler (HOF) . Jordan had Pippen (HOF). It always takes at least 1 HOF, 1 or 2 all-star-ish players, and 2 or 3 solid role players, and 2 or 3 dependable backups.

Dirk has a lot of talent around him this season, problem being none of them really have championship experience. Kidd knows how to get to the Finals, as does Dirk, but the other guys like Marion, Butler, Barrea, Haywood just can't be counted on in crunch time. There is reason Spurs kept guys like Horry and Kerr way past their prime, and why Manu is so valuable, even though he's lost a step.

And for the record, I also agree Dirk is a great player, but he's just not a #1 guy. Doesn't matter how many points he gets, or rebounds, he's not a very good defender.

Serious question, are there any teams that have a foreign player as their leader?

Everyone considers Larry Bird this great Champion...but I wonder how Dirk would be if he played with Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett.

Because that what Bird played with in McHale (the best low post player in the NBA during the 80's) and Robert Parish (one of the best defensive centers in the NBA.

Jason Kidd, Caron Butler, Jason Terry, Shawn Marion...All of those guys have multiple allstar appearances to their name and i would even argue that other than his defense, Kidd has played better this year than he has in several years. Is there even another team in the Western Conference that can match that supporting cast around their franchise player (outside of possibly the spurs now that everything is coming into form)? Your out of your mind if you think Dirk doesnt have enough around him. Even Brendan Haywood brought in another physical big guy which was what yall desperately needed, and he's worked out nicely up until this series as well.

Dirk is one of the greatest offense players to ever play the game, but he isnt the type of guy you can build a team around and IMO he's proven that over the years. It also seems like your dodging me and GHowards question on how many titles you think Dirk would have with the 90s bulls and vis versa with Jordan on the 2000s Mavs since you dont think even Jordan could win with this team. Im curious to see you answer this
