NCAA will allow players to profit on their name/likeness

Some things we might see:

A star player for a big name program sets up a website where fans can download his images for $20 each, or bigger images for $50 each. Thousands, or tens of thousands, of fans pay him $$$ online and download the image(s).

A team full of attractive volleyball players sells skimpy swimsuit calendars, hard copies and online. This pisses off certain segments of the administration and student body. Two of the women feel weird about doing this so they stay out. Animosity develops as they don't get the $ that their teammates got.

A booster is in a meeting with the coach and a recruit. Coach: "You see moneybags over there across the room? He's a billionaire, you can look him up in Forbes. You can be sure he'll pay you at least $100,000 for commercials for his business." Booster nods his head and smiles.

why wouldn't we? it's legal now. stupid, but legal.

do everything you can within the confines of the rules to win.
Do not have to - appearances on LHN would count.

The problem is during a televised came if the camera shows the bench does everyone get paid? What about radio interviews? What if adidas wants Sam to be a spokesman?
