NCAA Tourney

And, they put Baylor out of their misery early when Notre Dame was named a #1 seed out in Spokane, WA.

And, Tennessee is the matchup I wanted for Baylor. They have depth, size, and speed; and will have plenty of fans in Lexington!

So, it looks like the Big 12 only got four teams in: BU, Texas, OU & OSU.

Arizona State or Nebraska will be in the last game in Austin. Horns should also be there after eliminating Maine but can’t overlook anyone.

Albany Regional:
No Big 12 team assigned to this one.

Lexington Regional:
Waco
2 Baylor vs 15 Grambling
7 Michigan vs 10 Northern Colorado (Kamie Ethridge’s team)

Spokane Regional:
College station
5 DePaul vs 12 OU

Kansas City Regional:
Starkville
8 Syracuse vs 9 Okie State

Austin :yippee:
7 Arizona State vs 10 Nebraska
2 Texas vs 15 Maine

If Oklahoma State can get past Syracuse, they only lost to Mississippi State by 3 in early December IN Starkville. That could be interesting. Or, they could get blown out. :smile1:

I'm content overall. As I had state, all I wished for was not being the #2/3 seed in Albany with UConn. When I saw Georgia listed as the #4 seed in Albany, my heart sunk a little as I wasn't sure they would also put fellow SEC team South Carolina there as the #2 seed, and we'd be the one who drew the short straw.

Wasn't sure what to expect with the 7/10 participants in our sub-regional. Wasn't expecting BOTH a PAC and B1G team. Thought one would be from a lesser conference.

ASU has played in a tough PAC conference. I expect them to beat Nebraska.

With only 4 Big 12 teams in the field, surprised they'd place Oklahoma State (9) in our region. If they win their first round game, perhaps they will do us a favor by avenging their single digit loss at MSU earlier this season and win the rematch.

That's about as tough a second-round game as a #2 seed could get.

I either didn’t understand or misread, but when I purchased tix, it said Austin was Friday/Sunday, not Saturday/Monday. As it turns out couldn’t make Friday and now I don’t think Monday is in the cards. Was coming to Austin Sunday morning for Round 2. Looks like I’ll miss the whole damn thing.

Really wanted to add my lungs to the effort.

I'm happy. Best draw we could have hoped for (not saying it will be easy). Louisville-Baylor will be most interesting, assuming they make it that far. The west region sets up well for Oregon, I think. I doubt if Dawn is very happy about right now.

The other #7 seeds were Green Bay, Cal-Berkeley, and Michigan. Michigan, who was a Top 16 team during the first reveal back in January, is going to Waco.

Don't know much about Green Bay other than they are 29-3. Cal was good enough to beat Stanford a couple of weeks ago, and goes cross county to South Carolina.

ESPNU just aired some video of Dawn. She went on and on about leading the country in attendance, but they never get placed in region where the regional host site is within driving distance for their fans; stated that Lexington, KY has hosted 3 regionals in a row, but SC never got sent there. Asked the committee if all their talk about putting fans in the seats was only for the regular season.

Yes, I think that ASU will beat Nebraska. ASU plays a defensive style that’s not very attractive but is effective.

For those who like "whine" with their cheese, plenty of it on the Baylor message board tonight.

Hey ScottS (Baylor fan who lurks on our board and loves to link our threads on the Baylor message board), I'm gonna link your thread this time so we can enjoy all the Bear whining. Bracket reaction begins on page 2:

Baylor Fans, who are as stupid as they are rude, don't understand SOS or RPI...hope they get crushed by Louisville..or anyone...

I don't think, assuming that's the way it ends, that ASU guards can stay with ours. Their ballhandling is suspect from watching the PAC 12 tournament or maybe they had a bad game. We should be able to rebound well and fuel our fastbreak often.

This IS funny but we actually do want B12's teams to always get in because it looks bad on our conf if only Texas and BAY get in. Our league was down this year. But I'm still rofl!
Sorry but the bigger picture requires ou losing. Texas gains nothing by ou winning.
