NCAA Tournament

UCLA's coach is a fool.

Timme had 4 fouls on him for the last 8 minutes of the game, and not once did he coach his players to drive on Timme and draw a foul.

That's just stupid.

With the obvious exception of our teams being involved at this point, things have come together very nicely so far in my opinion.

On the women's side, Baylor lost to UConn, then UConn lost so the two teams I didn't want to see cut the nets went down.

On the men's side, I have no affinity to Gonzaga but would love to see them take down Baylor tonight. For me, I started really disliking Baylor after the way they handled the rape cases, plus being Catholic I'd love to see the Jesuits beat the Baptists. I respect what Few has done at Gonzaga and would like to see them end the season undefeated with a natty if it can't be my school.

Fundamentals and then more fundamentals...

Why is this not taught? After I left the Air Force and played for a compamy team, we spent HOURS on a Saturday (follwed by beer) on ground balls, fly balls, base running etc. Unless we went against a team with ringers (Hello Coca-Cola) we won.

I never understood not knowing the game and the fundamentals. This goes for sports and life.

Not a basketball post, but to me it matters that you prepare.

Thanks Baylor for bringing the NC to the B12.
They were the best team from the start tonight. I’m surprised. I thought the Zags would win the game.

Playing a tough B12 schedule prepared the bears well for March Madness. Bears were more athletic, better off the bench and can score from anywhere on the court.
Was UTEP the last Texas team to win it all??

Baylor is incredibly athletic, very quick, and totally prepared.
It’s true ^^^. Kinda hate to say it (cause I don’t like Scot Drew) but Drew is a very good coach and this year has got to be the National coach of the year.

Now I know why Timme went to Gonzaga. He'd play against the likes of Santa Clara and pacific. Not much different than Berkner or Lake Highlands

He was out of his league tonight

You mean playing a tough Shaka- coached Texas team prepared them. SMH

Baylor won a fluke tourney with all the big dogs out this year

However Drew Timme is a cocky showboater who deserved to get his *** beat this game. He got completely punked all night long by Baylor's bigs as well as the guards. They picked his pocket multiple times.

Funny how we don't see him grabbing his mustache and flexing his biceps anymore.

Where you at Drew? :lmao:

1st team since Texas Western (UTEP) in 1966 from the state of Texas to win it all!

Wow, 55 years ago. Most SWC teams didn't recruit blacks back then. A lot of the good black talent wound up at places like Texas Western.

Wonder how this Baylor team would fare against Phi Slamma Jamma? They don't appear to have any Hakeem's or Clyde Drexlers.

Well, you do make a point here^^^.

But if you compare the teams BU did play in the B12: UT, osu, ou, wvu, ttu, ku, I think you have to acknowledge the incredible athleticism up and down the conference. And Huggins, Kruger, Self, Boynton, & Beard as fine coaches that Drew had to match wits with repeatedly. Just saying that the Zags weren't consistently up against this level of competition as BU.
