As the pendulum has swung toward pitching in the college game the NCAA is considering lowering the seams on the baseball to bring more balance to the game.
This seems like a worthwhile effort as it would let college players use the same ball used in the pro game and lessen any transition time for college players entering the pros.
I doubt many would argue that the offensive side of college baseball could use a shot in the arm. There is even good news for pitchers in this change as lowering the seams will help prevent "the rise" of blisters developing on hurlers fingers. There is nothing more frustrating than a pitcher throwing a great game only to develop a blister and have to leave the mound.
