NCAA about to kill USC...

USC is looking at forfieting all of 2005 and most of 2004 games.

Reggie Bush is about to be ruled ineligible and I hope the Vince Young gets the Heisman, as Bush will have to forfiet it.

Who gets the National Champions in 2004 if USC has to forfeit games from that year?

OU or Auburn?

If, by "kill", you mean that the NCAA will hurl fluffy bunnies at USC and tickle them till they pee themselves, then yes: they are going to kill USC.

The NCAA ain't doin' jack-squat to Southern Cal. And, this is despite the fact that I fully believe Supah Coach knew full well what was going on with his players.

Cheaters DO prosper.

Like the other poster I will believe it when I see it.

The forfeited games are gone, nobody gets to claim the victory. Unless of course they win their appeal and get them back.

Reggie is not going to "relinquish" the Heisman to VY if all of this happens. OJ didn't. And even if he had to give it up, I don't think the DAC will award it to the runner up.

As excited as some people around here seem to get about the prospect of USC having to forfeit games and Reggie having to give up the tropy, I think it would be hilarious if OU was awarded another NC because of it.

Snowball's chance in hell the NCAA takes a MNC away from USC...though it would be funny...and watching Auburn and OU fight over it would be entertaining.

Well OU got their rulling overthrown so I woudn't be suprised if USC got its overthrown as well...though i would be even more suprised to see this happen.

BTW, I think changing the past is BS. Does the school really care? Do the players? Do the fans? If you want to hurt a school, take away things that currently effect the school like bowl games, TV, scholarships. I don't really care if the problems weren't caused by the current group of students and personnel. Plus, it would be hard to petition for reinstatement like OU managed to achieve.

I don't know how VY feels about it, but my first impression would be to tell them to stick it up their arce. If I were VY though, I may feel that I deserved it anyway and take it if offered.

Barking Carnival recently completed a ten part series on NCAA investigations of illegal player inducements. Those who expect the NCAA to come down hard on USC should read this series.

Considering the harsh, punitive steps taken by the ncaa against OU after Bomargate, I doubt USC escapes without having to give up at least 3 schollies and no bedtime snackies for a whole season.

There is some investigations going on about Floyd and OJ Mayo's situation here I've heard, and even Master P's son's situation seems fishy. If those things come to pass, then they may come down hard on USC for instituional control or somethign along those lines.

I think the NCAA will really lower to boom this time. First they will say that they have no comment on Reggie, as opposed to their unwavering support for his actions. Then to put the hurt on USC they will make them cut one scholarship for one year!!!

This will be the worst penalty they have handed out since SMU got shot like a lame horse.

PS I was just a wee lad when the SMU thing happened, but I am thinking that if the NCAA ran things then like it does now then to get the Death Penalth SMU had to do something more than pay players. Did the coach have an affair with the commissioners wife, and then kick his dog, and then steal his pickup? These days I think that might be the only way to get any serious penalty, which still would not be the death penalty.

Three in a... darn that number 10! no...

Two in a...hmmm, well, not actually

One in a....ah, the heck with it! Go Trojans!

If Reggie is ruled ineligible, the DAC should simply send out new ballots to the media and conduct a revote with only eligible players from that year.
