my wife

On Friday, my wife is travelling to Ukraine to teach 3-6 year old orphans Vacation Bible School for a little over 2 weeks.

She will be primarily working with the young ones at an orphanage in the mornings, but will also be dealing with teenage orphans in the afternoons and evenings. They are staying in a transitional house kind of thing with the teenagers.

The transitional house is a place for the orphans when they are too old for the orphanages, but they haven't finished trade school yet...

Please pray for her safety, that she and her team get through customs with no problems (they are taking a bunch of supplies and money and whatnot), and just for the overall trip that they might love on some orphans for a while and have fun with them during their 2 weeks with them.

geeze, just a few minutes from leaving and I'm already a nervous wreck.

This is her first trip overseas, and it will be the longest we've been apart since before we were married.

These two weeks are going to give me an ulcer.

And on top of everything else, due to the facilities they are staying at and the cost of internet connectivity there, I really won't get any communication at all from her the entire time.

Prayers to her for safe travels, and these guys will keep you company/ and sane if you end up needing it. Post here anytime.

Trust me, it helps, like and extended family right here on Hornfans. Prayers to you, too.

What an awesome experience. Prayers for her safe travels and her work.

You never know where this will lead. A fellow teacher of mine spent part of the summer in Kenya last year, and her "project" ended up including sponsoring the education of a 14 year old girl, supplying the girl's family and village with over 70 goats from a school fundraiser, and now fundraising for water driling for the village which has no running water.

May your wife's work and the work of the group continue to touch lives long after she returns safely to the states.

Prayers for your wife.

I have been on mission trips to Romania and Morocco(as well as Mexico), and am returning to Romania next month. I have had no bad experiences on mission.

Your wife will bring home more than she leaves behind. It is a tremendously rewarding experience that cannot be described.
