My Kind Of Coach

Using the new and wonderful features of this site, I would like to show you what a coach is and should be.

I hope we can give Skip the head job when Augie is done because somebody else sure will or he may just go to the majors as a pitching coach.

I also hope he will be the next head coach at Texas. (if he wants the job)

Frank Anderson and Tom Holiday were better pitching coaches than head coaches. Hopefully Skip will be successful.

I really like Skip also and believe that he deserves to be an HC. But big decisions like choosing the head coach deserves to be made when the time comes. Situations change too fast. There might be another "Augie Garrido" type out there when the earth opens up within the next two years. just like in football -- unless you play in the first series of downs, you should not call an offensive play until it is the next play to be run. It is way past the first series of downs in the last half, and one should not call a scripted play. .............. WE ARE TEXAS and THAT SHOULD NOT BE FORGOTTEN !!

My avatar represents the dawn that comes after this rare tradition reaches the national championship. I would hate it if it becomes dark after the next NC that Augie gets before he leaves. I am not saying that Skip is not the guy --------- just that we should get the best coach available at the time. As AG always says, play the game inning by inning.

I agree that there might be a better person for the job when the time comes. However, if the decision were being made today - Skip's my man. In Skip I Trust.

He has Clayton Kershaw's seal of approval so that is good enough for me. However I am not sure Patterson would hire him as HC as Patterson will want to make a splash with the hire.

Anyone think there is any chance of renaming Disch-Falk by adding in Gustafason in there some place? It needs to happen.
