I just found out yesterday that my aunt has decided to have her breast removed (masectomy...I think that's what it's called?). This unfortunately isn't her first encounter with the disease. She was diagnosed 20 years ago and had her other breast removed and reconstructed, which is exactly what she's going to have done this time around. The doctors believe that they caught it in the early stages. I don't know too much about this form, but my mother told me that they checked her lymph system and have found no traces of it there, which is apparently a good thing.
My aunt is a really tough person, and I'm entirely sure that she will go after this head on and kick it in the ***, but it would be nice to know that there are others out there rooting for her. Thank you!
