My Daughter's Marriage

She is getting married on Sat. the 14th outside and I get to wear a black tuxedo. Starts at six. I am expecting about 102 F.

When I played basketball they had to constantly pump fluids in me. I lost around 10-14 pounds per basketball game.
When I played football, during two a days, I would have to get into a cold water bath and be given fluids.
Anyway, I sweat like a big girl.

Any suggestions.?????????? I am predicting a fainting spell.

Camelback backpack. The Link . Problem solved. Although...you might look a little hunchbacked...but it should keep you from passing out....maybe?

Who in God's name plans an outdoor August wedding? Don't they have churches or hotel ballrooms where you live??

Know any doctors or nurses? Have someone give you a bag of fluid via IV before the ceremony. Then your worst case scenario should only be the inevitable monster piss you'll need to take during the festivities. Wear a Depends under the tux, and you're good to go.

Pickle juice and no, I am not kidding. I am not sure of the exact recipe and formula for what athletes use but they use that sometimes.

Also remember that it is not what you drink the day of but even before that. Do not drink alcohol the night before or morning of. Drink plenty of fluids the day and night before. I suggest stretching and did I mention clear fluids like water 24 hours before?

When athletes cramp up from dehydration is it not from what they did not drink that day as much as the night before. Good luck and congratulations to your daughter and family.

Went to an old high school friends wedding this past weekend and when I got there I found out it was outside. It started at 6pm and I congratulate them for sticking out the heat. Needless to say it was a fairly short wedding.

Luckily my little boy decided to practice his public speaking skills so we had to take him inside to the a/c and watch through the glass doors of reception area.

The only advantage to an outdoor wedding in August is that when everybody sees the groom sweating profusely they'll think it's from the heat.

They've been living together for two years. I recommended Vegas or Cabo.............I was rebuffed. 24K later I feel a little ............ molested.

I recently performed a wedding ceremony outdoors at 6 pm. It was the second outdoor wedding I have done this summer. (as a pastor I got to wear a suit, but at least not my heavy robe over the suit)
Needless to say, both of these were VERY short weddings. I am talking 15 minutes tops. As a 'professional' of these type events, stay indoors until the LAST possible moment. That will literally cut your time outdoors in half. That is by far the best thing, because the wedding ceremony itself won't be that long, the waiting around before will be.

God Bless You Theu. If it's 15 minutes, I might survive. My only daughter, college softball pitcher, beautiful, hate to give my baby away.

She could quit college or something dumb like that.

The i's have it. With a cold Tecate to boot. I'm a cryer too. Still remember when she was born. Maybe a shot of Patron. That's good for hydration right?

$24K for a wedding? Wow! I paid for mine myself -- about $4,000. Of course, that was in 1985, and the rates have gone up.

Congratulations to your daughter, and I wish her and the groom a lifetime of happiness!

Texanne,
I don't want to put words in TigerPride's mouth, but he loves his daughter and has spared no expense... unless it is a very large wedding, it is a very nice wedding...but yea, 24k is something you can spend without thinking.

Tigerpride,

No offense, but the honeymoon is the responsibility of the groom. Seriously, and 100%... I say that not so much as a pastor, but as a groom... I paid for this The Link which was LESS than 6k, and you can't have a greater honeymoon.... My travel agent saved me about 10k over what I wanted to do, and the experience was GREAT.

I appreciate it, but it's too late. I'm a sucker. I got dogged a little for not doing more...........I was like? They wouldn't even have a car if it weren't for me.!!!!!!!!!! One daughter is plenty. I wish I had three cents back on the dollar for what I have spent on that girl...........on a teacher/coaches salary.

Dad, if you want a girl who's going to take care of herself, you have to start that early. Now, as a female who was raised to take care of herself and has occasionaly wished for more, I commend you on raisiang a girl who truly beleived she deserved something better. And I applaud you giving it to her.

For what you've invested, you shouldn't have to ask anyone's permission about going with the shorts over the long pants. If they are worried about the memories, just have the photographer aim above the knees, or use photoshop.

I have one daughter and another girl on the way. The first thing I thought about was 2 weddings are going to break me. Guess I better start saving now.
