I have amazing news!!!
Based upon the latest scans, from head to toe, the tumors are responding better than the doctors expected!
o The treated brain tumors are not visible on the MRI - just an ever so slight shadow on the last tumor.
o There are no visible recurrences in the Spine area - it looked great
o The lung tumors are gone - again just a slight shadow barely visible to the naked eye
I can't even describe how we feel, in fact, we are probably still in a zombie like state! It is so overwhelming to hear the words that everything looks great. Sitting in the clinical office waiting is one of the hardest things we do, our knuckles are white, we are on the verge of either passing out or throwing up, but the doctors tell us this is a quite normal reaction!
The plan is to continue with daily chemo injections, meet with a urologist in 2 weeks to discuss a nephrectomy (kidney removal). Based upon that consultation, next steps will be determined. If the doctors decide on the surgery path it will probably happen in January.
The doctor said again that Jerry is unique and breaking all of the models! We asked for aggressive treatment and we are getting it! Our doctors are awesome, they think out of the box, treat the disease aggressively, and keep us focused and positive.
The journey has been challenging to say the least, but we have learned so many things, especially how blessed we are for our family and friends!
Thank you so much for your support, your acts of kindness, prayers and positive thoughts - it keeps us focused on winning this battle.
