We met with the doctors yesterday to get the latest tests results and the progress report was: GREAT!
We are truly blessed and have so much to be thankful for, especially for family and friends like you that keep us strong and focused.
There is no new activity in the spine or lung area and based upon the X-Rays, the largest nodule in the lung appears to be fading. The x-rays are not as conclusive as a CT scan but are still a good indicator of progress. The plan is to continue with the daily injections for 6 weeks and then do another round of extensive tests, including a CT scan of the abdomen to get exact measurements of size.
At this point, the doctor cannot predict how long the injections will continue, however, he was very encouraged about how quickly the tumors are responding to the chemo. He said my dad is really a unique case in the amount of progress he has made since the initial diagnosis. We always knew this would be a journey and there were no quick fixes, but are really happy with the progress thus far, as well as the competency of our team of doctors. Sometimes it is hard to imagine just how far we have come!
This challenge has taught us so much about patience, perseverance, faith, and keeping a good attitude. We can’t say this enough, we could NOT have come this far without each and everyone of you encouraging us in so many ways.
We will continue to keep the faith and fight this battle aggressively.
