My cousin is going to aggy

He got a full scholarship in their biomedical engineering program. He got into UT as well but didn't get as much money.

Is there anything I can do to keep him from becoming aggy?

Unfortunately no there is nothing you can do at this point but pray. Your cousin might have had a chance if UT wasn't an option and had been rejected by a plethora of other decent universities. But this is not the case.

Good luck to that lost soul

Your cousin has seen Vince/Colt throw the football around right? Cause right there should have sealed the deal. But if your cousin has seen them in action...its a lost cause.

tell him to wear burnt orange every day while there, they really like that.

or

you pay the difference in the amount UT offered as compared to aggy

Believe it or not, there are some students attending that school who are not aggy. The typical mouth breathing, overall wearing, sabre swallowing (not that there's anything wrong with that), moron aggy refer to them as 2%ers.

Not everybody gets sucked into the bizarro cult world epitomized by the corps. Pray your cousin escapes the vortex, but don't count on it.

I think he has accepted at A&M already. He has not talked to me because he knows I would have pushed him hard to go to UT--his mom told me.

He is a really good kid, and I think I can handle him going to Texas A&M. But I don't want him to become aggy. As he has gotten older he has started to develop an interest in talking trash and I think he is the kind of person that is susceptible to drinking the kool-aid in large quantities.

Is there any way I can innoculate him before he goes to Fish Camp? Because I think if I don't get to him before then, it will be too late.

You can only pray and hope he sees the light vs. the dark side despite the damn scholarship money... after all he has to think about the future. Go thru life as a lowly aggy or a graduate of THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS?

1. UT has a slightly better ranked undergrad Biomedical Engineering program
2. I believe they have a brand spanking new building (is it open yet, I left before it was finished)
3. He'll have more fun in Austin

That said, depending on the size of the scholarship, I might have taken it too. Fortunately, I didn't.

I have a younger brother who always loved the Horns. I took him to Texas games and shopping at Rooster Andrews whenever he'd come to town. He went to a$m. He changed degrees and spent 5 years in collie station ; more than enough time to drink the kool aid. A football player in high school, he seriously considered walking on and eventually ran around with the power lifting team. His roommate was on the baseball team. Amazingly he did not turn in to aggy. There may be hope for your cousin.

Sometimes you just put the rivalry aside and just think that it's great he got into a good program with a scholarship.
Came close for me -- my daughter is at UT now, but was accepted into the nuclear engineering program at A & M and seriously cosidered it. Ultimately it cam down to the fact that she just couldn't be an Aggie. Had she gone there to that program, I would have understood.

I lost a niece to A&M. She was a big sports fan and that's why it hurt to lose her. She didn't get into UT. She is an Aggie through and through now and we can no longer share our sports interests with each other. It's a terrible waste of a life. Maybe when the ******** wear off of her ring (reference to Aggie lore) we can be around each other again.

a trash talking engineer? really?

and i lost a niece to oklahoma. didn't get accepted into ut. spent one year there and is now at tcu. was accepted to ut after her freshman year, but gave them the chase daniel treatment and is enjoying her time as blood crying frog.
