Who do you got?
Last year Dirk won b/c Dallas won 67 and had a shot at 70. To me it wasn't his best season and I didn't like the choice. Nash had improved statistically on his previous 2 MVP seasons and had his team flying high again. Kobe Bryant had come off of his season long scoring fest and had become more team oriented and led his team of nobody's to the playoffs. Lebron had carried his team on his back to the playoffs as well. Still can't believe that Dirk won over Nash, Bryant, and possibly Lebron.
Anyways to this year.
Lebron again is carrying his team on his back. Granted he plays in the East. He is averaging:
30 pts
7.2 assists
8.0 rebounds
.483 FG%
Nash is the same old Nash even with the shuffle at the end of the season. He is averaging:
17.2 pts
11.1 assists
.505 FG%
.475 3Pt%
.904 FT%
Chris Paul is one of the new faces of the NBA I believe. He has his team in 1st or 2nd place at the end of the season. He is averaging:
21.1 pts
11.6 assists
2.7 steals
.485 FG%
.366 3PT%
.851 FT%
Kobe has improved on his team play this year and taken his team from an overachieving bunch that just made the playoffs last year to possibly the #1 seed in the West. He is averaging:
28.4 pts
5.4 assists
6.3 rebounds
.460 FG%
.363 3PT%
.838 FT%
For me this is how it wraps up. Paul is having an amazing season but he is too young to win this MVP with these greats having such great seasons. James is carrying his team and posting amazing #'s but just nothing in his team's record, conference standing, or stats that just jumps out at me to win this. Nash is posting MVP type #'s yet again but his team is behind Paul's in the standings and he has more superstars on his team. I would put Paul ahead of Nash due to this but I would write it in ink and I would probably reverse the order tomorrow. Kobe is hands down the MVP. His scoring #'s are down but we all know he could score 35 a game if he wanted to. Add in the defense he brings in and I don't think there is a player more valuable to their team than Kobe Bryant is to the LA Lakers right now. Having his team in 1st place right now sets him apart from the other guys.
