Muschamp a short-timer?

His track record of success is undeniable. I'll be happy to have his services as long as he is willing to provide them.

But, I tend to agree that he's likely here for only 2-3 years before he gets an HC offer that he can't refuse. I suspect that it will have to be a fairly legit program. I can't see him settling like Chizik did for an ISU-level program.

Someone has already said it, but is Muschamp gets a HC job really soon it is because we have one of the best D's in the country & we can all live with that.

He was literally within hours of getting the Arkansas job, so I feel lucky we have him for whatever time that may be.

I dunno why, but i have a gut feeling he may be here a few seasons. He's a young guy who is around one of the best coaching staffs in the country. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of big name programs a up and comming guy like him couldn't pass up, but just because you can get a HC job dosnt mean youll be sucessful (Greg Robinson). Honesty, i was a little suprised Gene Chiznik went to Iowa St. He could have done better- think Christie Brinkley producing offspring with Billy Joel. I think Muschamp works his a$$ of here and absorbs a little from his coaching elders.

OUE: Reese retired after the 2003 season.

That was the year when we beat Tech, handcuffing them to 40 points when their last ditch FGA to tie the game at 43 doinked off the upright. Mackovic woulda been proud!

"and Chuck Long as qb coaches"

Step aside, Leach? Did someone else coach QBs for Leach?

And not to get too picky, but unless the first millenium began with the year 0, the 2000 OU blowout was not in this millenium. I'd like to think that those two losses were once-in-a-millenium type things.

Leach was on the staff for one season, 1999, as offensive coordinator. I do not know if he held the title of quarterbacks coach that year or not, but it was held by Long in 2000 when OU was BCS National Champions.

Yeah the SEC has no good offenses. There are plenty of teams that run the spread formations in both leagues. Please only make intelligent comments.

Look, all I'm saying is that the Big XII is known for its spread offenses and quarterbacks. Last season the conference was No. 1 in total offense. The Big XII also had 6 of the top 24 rated QB's in the country last year, they are all back this year and Texas plays all of them. Do you know how many the SEC had? 2, Tebow and Woodson and woodson was down at #20. Coincidentally, they are the only 2 teams that run a spread pass first offense in the SEC, the Big XII has 7, all of whom Texas plays this year.

Everyone said the same thing about Chizek when we got him but were disappointed with his success. It wasnt because he isnt a good coach, it is because it is plain out difficult to stop these spread offenses. I happen to think Muschamp may have some growing pains. However, for you to sit there and claim my ignorance...well, it appears to be ignorant on your part.
