Murray was a...........

How about showing a little class and giving the defense credit where credit is due? B. Jones, as the article stated, "read it perfectly." He was in a great position and made a play on the ball. On the fumble, our D Line caused a lot of pressure on the play, making him scramble and, unfortunately for him, cough up the football.

Contrast this with the comments from our players:

Breckyn: "He is a special talent."
Sam: "I was just going to congratulate him on a great game.”

Losing is hard for someone who always wins. He should be thankful we didn't plant the Texas flag on the field.

...no class, a** and a punk a** b***h.
I expect at some point the coaches will make him issue an apology. But it speaks a lot about his immaturity and I hope the Heisman voters, as well as his future employer, take note.
He’s very talented but I cannot wish the best for him going forward.

“Offensively in the first and second half we did a lot of great things. This game is a four-quarter game … it is just tough.”

Yes it is a 4 quarter game, but Texas is the team that offensively pooched it in the 4th. Had Herman kept the foot on the OU throat instead of being so conservative we could have won by 35 and not 3 Kyler. You're a crybaby.

I for one am proud of the way our team presents themselves to the media and social media, generally speaking. Murray’s antics after the game are not becoming of a starting QB; emotion is no excuse.

You guys do realize Texas is going to have to play Oklahoma again in December, to be honest, I'm more scared of that game than the first. I was confident Texas would win this game, I have no idea what Texas is going to see in the next game except I know Texas is going to face a much more focused Kyler Murray.

Still have a lot of season to play. First of all we must take care of business and avoid the letdown to an inferior team. Second, odds are OU does win out from here, but you never know with their defense. I can see TCU or Ok State giving them a run for their money.

I am more concerned about Riley's game plan than that crybaby. I have no doubt we'll have another 14 to 21 point lead and I'm most concerned about Hermans lack of killer instinct. Stoops made a living on making sure to absolutely break the opposing teams will before letting up. It was clear to me OU had not yet given up down by 21 points and Herman assumed they had and went conservative which almost cost us the game.

I’ll give TH credit that he does seem to learn from the game experiences this week. Case in point, defensive penalties in previous games this seasons; much better yesterday. Now, the I will chuck up one of yesterday’s hold penalities to Shack working the cobwebs out. I’m expecting Herman will get the team ready and not blow a big lead from here on out.

TCU or Tech (both on the road). OSU seems to be very hollow so far this season.
If Orlando can correct the defensive deficiencies and Texas can make it to the play-like championship game, they will win it. Riley had to lay all of his cards on the table yesterday, and unless Big Red hires about 6 new defensive players between now and that game, Texas will again be able to dictate the game pace and scoring.

Quite frankly the real concern now is the current distinct possibility that 3 $EC teams could make it through to the playoff's because Alabama will have to lose 2 games to be kept out and Georgia, Florida, and LSU will be pushed hard by ESPN claiming those are the best 4 teams in the land.

Back in the late 70's early 80's the San Diego Chargers lead by coach Don Coryell and QB Dan Fouts had the most potent offense the NFL had ever seen (at that time). They won a lot of game by just offensively rolling their opponents. Finally teams like the Oilers, Raiders, and Dolphins figured out how to beat them. You just have to keep scoring TD and not let up. As great as the Chargers offense was their defense was the suck.

This Oklahoma team is the same, so Tom needs to go all in on offense and keep scoring he needs a goal of about 60 pts, that and getting 2 to 4 stops on defense.

I'm really hoping Texas does see Oklahoma again, and beats them again, it will be a great resume for getting into the playoffs.

So, you would have suggested, when we had a 21-point lead that instead of shortening the game, we should have played more risky? As is was, we had the ball last, scored and went home with the trophy. I sure would not have wanted each team to have had 3 more possessions, which is a likely result of pursuing more risky points.

For example, with the three score lead, did you want another double-reverse pass to the QB? How about some more jump-pass trick plays by the WR? How about some more deep balls to closely guarded WRs that all went our way? How about a few more gutsy 4th down tries? Because that’s how we built the lead. I don’t think that would have been a good idea.

But we didn't shorten the game.
The last couple of drives, definitely the last one, we abandoned the run and were throwing almost every down.
I was screaming at my television, "Run the F'ing ball!!".
And as good a game as Sam had, these were his least accurate throws.
Third and 3 and we throw it?
We ran on them all day and then it seemed the plan changed right at the end.
Ok, no more complaints. Great win. ;)

And they never made it to a Super Bowl. An overwhelming offense without a reasonably good defense is not a prescription for a championship.

Yesterday, One of the sports networks said we would not be favored against TECH pr WV. Baylor has a good team. Iowa State is good. We better not let up.
Yesterday, I believe Ou was a slightly faster team than us but Longhorns were tougher by a lot. I also think the referees missed many holding penalties in the fourth that benefitted Ou and crippled us in similar situations.

That sounds like your argument is that we risked too much, and should have played safer in order to run more time off per play.

When you are up by 21 pts, you either have to have a running game you can count on to pound it out and eat up about 5 minutes of clock at a time or you have to keep on scoring TDs and keep your foot on their throat.

Texas hasn't had a running game it can 100% count on since Ricky Williams was a Longhorn.

I say you keep running your offense and doing what you did to get that 21 pt lead. In that 4th quarter, Oklahoma was counting on Texas to run the ball, and Texas gave them exactly what they wanted. I personally think Texas should have done more play action and sent a few more deep balls down the sideline to Johnson, LJ and Duverney. To me it's a sign of respect for the Oklahoma offense that we know you can score a lot of points and we aren't letting you come back on us.

They scored 3 touchdowns in 5 minutes on a pretty good Texas defense, that is a scary thought, we need to score and score often against this team if there is a rematch.

...was a Heisman candidate.

I believe he will no longer be in that discussion. Turnovers doomed him and then the plug got kicked when he was such a little ***** after the game. I have to believe that there are still at least a few voters that take sportsmanship into account...

I'm not entirely certain the Land Thieves run the table...we know they have no defense, and even their own announcers were discussing it. They have the game against the Tortilla Tossers, and defense has never been THEIR strong point either, with this season being no different.

I could easily see OU/TTU being a game where the LOSER (as it appears on the scoreboard since one team is a LOSER to begin with) puts 70 on the board.

Also, they get the Couch Burners on the road for the Thanksgiving game (sort of, November 23). I could see that one being a game where the WVU QB is looking to feast for a second time over the holiday. I don't see the OU defense tightening up between now and then (sphincters notwithstanding).

I can definitely see ouSUX losing at least 1 more game before the end of the season. That is a really crappy D.

Not really an argument.
I never said we should take more risks.
You are correct that I think we should have run more and used more clock.
I also think we should have run more because they weren't really stopping it.
I think we would have extended drives with more runs rather than passing every down.

Short answer in this particular game yes. To me it wouldn't have been very risky given the suckage of the OU defense. Easy to say this after the game, but when I saw what was going on I couldn't believe we went so conservative and was ranting about it. Before OU scored the first 4th qtr yd, I kept saying we needed 3 more points to put the game away, but we just kept running for nothing, making penalties and kicking 35 yard punts.

Uh, WV might beat everybody. They may have the best q back in college football and their recievers are big. OU can tell you about what big receivers can do to them.

I've said this 3 other threads. Just don't hold. That's it. Running plays that get you 12 and 7 yds are exactly what you want. Just don't hold and they had zero ability to stop us at that point. Hell, we could have just run Sam 5 times in a row if we don't hold. Think about this. Sam scored 3 TDs and went in standing each time. Their D was whipped. Stepping on their throat is pounding the ball down it. Just don't friggin hold. We better learn from this. You want to take over a game, no stupid offensive penalties.
