Mowing The Lawn Etiquette

I got one of those "reel" mowers yesterday, it was a hand me down. Now I can mow whenever the hell I want but it will take twice as long...
 
Reel mowers are great, and actually better for your grass since the mechanism scissor-cuts your grass instead of bluntly lopping it off.
 
I used to have a neighbor that would occasionally throw loud drunken parties with bass blaring at 2 a.m. His punishment was 7 a.m. lawn mowing and weed eating outside his window.

I felt that was more neighborly than calling the cops on him.
 
Exactly Lazy. I've got a neighbor who thinks it is cool to have all your neighbors hear what you are listening to, even late into the night. Most of the time we don't mind, but when he has people over and wakes up the kid....its mower and weedeater time at sunrise.

We're hurting for rain, so I haven't had to mow for the last 3 weeks. I have buffalobermuda mix, so it's looking a little brown.
 
If you wake up at or before 6 am everyday your internal alarm clock has NO idea it's a saturday... that said i still wouldn't mow before 8am.

In Texas, lawnmower etiquette is going to be slightly different. In the middle of Summer, it gets real hot real early. So you should cut your neighbor some slack if he mows right after the sun comes up, because if he waits any later it's going to be miserable to mow the lawn.

When it's not so hot, I think it's appropriate to hold off until 9:30 or so on weekends.
 
I start at 7 because I am a little girlyman who is afraid of the heat and wants to get back inside to play with his dolls.

"Too hot" to mow the yard? You've got to be kidding me.
 
9AM is a safe rule I think. I used to have an Ahole neighbor who would fire his mower up at 7am everytime. To compound this annoyance, his Ahole dog would bark at the mower. We have since moved.
 
i'll mow whenever the grass dries from the dew, which is usually around 9am. but my mower isn't loud so i could mow earlier if i wanted to.
 
I'm glad I live in a neighborhood where no one has a yard. I would be pissed if anyone was mowing before 10:00 AM. Any evening before midnight is fine with me. Not in the morning though.
