Mosque Shooting in New Zealand

Lot's of misdirection in that manifesto likely geared to get a chuckle from his meme buddies on 8chan.

What are the facts:
1. He was a white supremacist.
2. Feared the "invasion" from Muslims.
3. Walked into 2 mosques and killed 49 Muslims.

Monahan infers he was a socialist with the strong intention of stamping out this Muslim capitalists.

In his manifesto, he also praises mass murderers Dylann Roof and Anders Breivik, but our friends are reluctant to recognize they are also right-wing white nationalists. Blame the left.

Guys! Cut out the crap. The murderer said in his manifesto that he was an eco-fascist and a proponent of communist China. He also explicitly stated "I am not conservative". That is what you call the opposite of inference. That is explicit statement.

He was obviously a white nationalist. Ethnic nationalism is based on collectivist ideology, not the traditional individualism of the American right wing. But whatever, think about him how you like. He's awful and needs to be executed.

I think the problem is that they think a white nationalist can only be right wing. The eugenics movement of the early 20th century should have been enough to put that myth to bed.

The funny thing is we are discussing a sick, murderous dude in New Zealand, yet are trying to categorize him through the paradigm of American identity politics.

Seems a bit ridiculous to me.

It's equally crazy to feign ignorance that the rhetoric of the current conservative class isn't giving tacit approval and positive acknowledgement for individuals like this and the Pittsburgh synagogue hooter.

Before you cast stones at the conservatives perhaps you need to pay attention to the open antisemitism coming from your party.

LOL. Pretty harsh, Bro. I'll let the others do most of the slugging it out with you on this, but that's way over the line. Nobody in the conservative class is any more approving (tacitly or otherwise) of this guy and people like him than Bernie Sanders is of the guy who shot up the baseball field or Al Sharpton is of folks who assault and murder police officers. You can be a leftist and still not only oppose murdering non-leftists but be just as blameless when someone chooses to murder non-leftists as those who aren't leftists. You can say ugly and stupid things about police officers and still be against murdering police officers. You can oppose Muslim immigration for any number of reasons (economic, cultural, security, etc.) and still be just as much against murdering innocent Muslims who have emigrated as those who want to let everybody who's non-Western in.

That doesn't mean that Sanders, Sharpton, and Trump are right on the merits of what they argue. I think all three are wrong. Socialism is bad. Generalized cop-bashing is bad. Religious tests on immigration are bad. However, they are not incitement nor are they tacit approval or any kind of approval.

No Texas governmental entity may enter into a contract with a company for goods or services unless the contract contains a written verification from the company that it does not boycott Israel and will not boycott Israel during the term of the contract.

Nice law if you can get it. Really nice.

Dude, that is federal law for private companies (sector). Attend an export law seminar before spouting off. The Texas government only extended the law to state government. If we had honest media, you would know that. We have idiots in media.

LH, I'm surprised you'd be surprised by this. When one side pushes for BDS, it makes sense that the affected parties would fight back.

Office of Antiboycott Compliance

Who Is Covered by the Laws?
The antiboycott provisions of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) apply to the activities of U.S. persons in the interstate or foreign commerce of the United States. The term "U.S. person" includes all individuals, corporations and unincorporated associations resident in the United States, including the permanent domestic affiliates of foreign concerns. U.S. persons also include U.S. citizens abroad (except when they reside abroad and are employed by non-U.S. persons) and the controlled in fact affiliates of domestic concerns. The test for "controlled in fact" is the ability to establish the general policies or to control the day to day operations of the foreign affiliate.

So, some Texas teacher gets his or her panties in a wad because now he/she has to abide by anti-boycott laws. I recall about a year ago the left was calling this some type of dictator move by Trump. The left was also calling Trump Hitler too, but how to reconcile the two? Hitler supports anti-Israel boycotting?

Probably because there may more than one type of "left" or extreme left group of folks, just like there may be more than one extreme "right" group. It get's confusing.
