Mixed Drinks...

making mojitos requires too much effort and has too many variables involved. crushing mint takes too much time, club soda goes flat too easily, sugar doesn't dissolve well and making syrup takes forever and is never sweet enough (haven't tried equal/splenda though, that might work better)

Summertime: Hangar one - ice - lime. Repeat as needed.

Wintertime: Maker's Mark - ice. Repeat as needed.

No soda. No mixes. Simple goodness. I need to figure out how to get some of this Tito's many of you speak of.

I know a guy who has found Tito's in Chicago.

If you look on the Tito's website, you can find a list of distributors in your state. Check to see which one is closest, give them a call, and they can tell you where to find it.

Here is an interesting website for mixed drinksThe Link

and as far as Jungle juice/transhcan punch/etc goes, back in the days we would have Hairy Buffalo parties (Hairy Bufflao being the name we used for trash can punch/jungle juice, Hairy Buffalo because that is what the inside of you mouth felt like the next morning after the party), the host or hosts would purchase the Hawiian punch concentrate, container, and ice and the guests would bring whatever leftover liquor they had laying around from previous parties preferably clear or whatever cheap clear booze you could scrape up enough money to buy. As you arrived you would take your booze and dump it into the punch uh, "bowl" and stir and get you a glassfull.

It was interesting how the taste of the punch changed over the duration of the party. and yes there are a lot of Hairy Buffalo stories that could be told.
