Miss St vs Horns DH

Figure we start a new thread for the DH.

We are playing two 7 inning games starting at 1C with a 40 minute intermission before game 2 starts.

Borba has moved up and as predicted, Winfield with the start. Coach is pretty aggressive with lineup changes, I like it. He’ll give These guys more opportunities but you have to earn your position, key ingredient to rewarding opportunities and developing the strongest team possible.

game is currently on SEC+, it was supposed to be on the SEC Network but softball currently playing.

Mendoza with a high bouncer to 2nd, out number 1.

Harrison on the mound.

Walks the next batter. 1 on, 1 out.

ground ball to 2nd, tried to turn 2 but got the out at 2nd. 1 on, 2 outs.

lazy line drive to LF for a single. 2 on, 2 outs and Harrison dealing with a little adversity early in the game.

Guy at the plate (Hunter Hines) for Miss. St. is nearing the all time HR leader, 10 HR's from that achievement.

Walks him to load the bases.

Pitch clock violation, ball one and now Schloss is out to talk to the umpire and now the ump is walking out to discuss with the rest of the crew.

Pop up to Flores at ss ends the threat as Harrison digs out of it with minor damage and 1-0 deficit.

Those first 6 batters in the lineup is formidable. Gas being at 7 ain't bad either and then Schuessler at 9.

Miss St. starting pitcher (Davis) is a righty.

Galvan draws a BB. 1 on, 1 out.

Borba k looking. Ump has been a little inconsistent on the outside corner, Davis has been playing with that corner and his main pitch seems to run from 3 to 9 o'clock.

This time it runs inside and Gas HBP. 2 on, 2 outs.

An opportunity for Winfield to take advantage and possibly gain more playing time. Come on Winfield!!!

Winfield with a big time clutch hit down the RF line to score 2!!!!! 2-1 Texas!!!

That was a frozen rope to the wall. Gas scored all the way from 1st base on that hit (slight mishandling by the RF). Winfield standing up on 2nd.

Schuessler lines a double into right center field to score Winfield. 3-1 Texas.

This is such a dangerous lineup, with 2 on and 2 outs and have to pitch to Belyeu, kid is way overdue for a bomb.

Belyeu FO to LF.....ugh. it was on the edge of the warning track though.

Texas up 3-1. Now need Harrison to settle in and start mowing these guys down and eating up innings.

Harrison started off well, got Sanders down 0-2 then proceeded to even the count 3-2.

Sanders then hits a lazy line drive straight to Mendoza and Mendoza doubles up the non tagging runner at 1st to end the inning. Heads up play by Mendoza and Schuessler.
