To the people making decisions (AD, University Pres, etc.) that must consider current market optics and how they impact the perception of the hire and overall direction of their program. Market optics greatly determined by their alumni base and you know, "those impatient fans who don't count for squat".

And those people have gotten lazy and have fallen into the "ESPN" trap. ESPN constantly pumps coaches and Conferences, and the lazy ones use that as the optics.
 
They have good assistants and a great rectitude (edited: recruiting) class. I'd how (edited: hire) from within for continuity sake.
