Michigan-Bama CFP 2023

I hope this game does not go to overtime. I hate college overtime rules. No relationship to real football. . . . well, shucks

Seventy years of watching football and never seen it happen but on the TD what if the receiver would have jumpted and came down with both feed out of bounds in the end zone. As it was only one foot touched in bounds.
Still a TD inside the pylon.

I don't think it would have mattered. All that has to happen is the ball break the plain and it instantly becomes a dead ball.

As long as you cross the goal line before going out of bounds it’s a TD. I assume you also meant the catch was made before goal line.

I still don’t understand what Alabama was doing. They have first down on the Michigan 29 they get cute and end up with 12 players on the field. Then they throw the ball three straight times when all they needed to do on first down was not get cute and just keep running the ball and they would’ve scored a touchdown and this game would be over.

I do think it’s a rugby rule that you actually have to touch the end zone, but I admit I don’t know
There are many TD’s where the ball is placed over and inside the pylon and the player and ball never touches the EZ turf.

On the actual play the receiver after catching the ball jumped before reaching the goal line. Only one foot barely came down in bounds. I asked the question before thinking about it.
