Mexico's Third World Mentality

Back to the original topic...based on Mr. Fiesta it seems some national MSM sources have reported the story, CNN the most prominent.

Is the issue that they aren't beating the drum as loudly and long as Fox News? Outside of CNN and lost Malaysian airliner I'm not sure any news network beats a single issue more than Fox News.

vol: my position exactly: we don't deport because large swathes of the country uses the illegal labor.
A labor shortage would create tremendous growth in jobs and wages for the native born. Labor shortages are what made this country what it is. Lincoln and the other whigs, for example, were against slavery because it interfered with the ability of the white laborers to generate wealth because they had to compete with very cheap labor. Same here now to an extent.

But back to the initial post: I still don't get how this is a story with any national implications. Mexico has incarcerated Americans with guns and ammo for a good while. Maybe this guy was just careless, though I don't like the idea that he is driving around with an AR in the trunk. Neither did the Mexicans. They will let him loose after a while.

In the meantime, good publicity for not going to Mexico with guns.

And as a person who practices some criminal defense law, please people, don't believe anything you hear from criminal defense lawyers when they talk on tv. It is all bs.

...because the people who hire them in vast numbers don't go on television to weep about how they will go broke paying a living wage: they talk to their congressmen and explain how somebody has to slaughter the cattle and clean the hotel rooms if they are going to make a buck.

Then they quietly make a campaign contribution.

That is the way it works. Or doesn't, depending on how you see it.
