Men's Suits

If it is not a big deal financially, then I would try to get up to 5 suits, but yeah you could def get by with less.

Another question, I have always just gone with what the salesman suggests for my situation but what is the general rule on material? I know there are some options but what goes into the decision of which material to get?

Damn, I'm glad I don't have to wear a suit to work any longer. I got rid of all of mine about 4 years ago, keeping only 3 suits. Blue on for weddings, black for funerals and another one for upscale parties.

"I would say you need at least 5 suits so you won't have to repeat in any one week. "

You could have 1 suit and no one would notice. 2 are more than enough assuming they are nice.

The best advice I can give you, "Do not buy your suits at Mens Warehouse or K&G!" I you need to buy suits for everyday, then Macy's, Foleys, Dillards, Banks, etc. or the places to go. I would buy 2 everyday suits in Navy & Grey and then spend a little more for a special occasion suit in Black or midnight blue. I have worn my black aligator boots with my tux several times and have gotten many complements but in a client situation, it depends on the clients. If they are city slickers from the Northeast, then go with the traditional oxfords. Anyone south of the Mason Dixon line will appreciate a good lookin' pair of boots and the chicks love it!!

I really miss wearing suits. All those Hickey and Barney suits just wasting away in my closet now.
