Hakula after leading by as many as two strokes is now all square through 8
Fritelli is all square through 7
Gribble is up 2 through 6
Spieth up 2 through 5
Vegas is down 2 through 4
Horns lead in 2, trail in 1 and are all square in 2.
Hakula has entered back 9 and is all square through 10
Fritelli turns 9 headed to 10 at 1 up
Gribble and Spieth are both up 2 through 7
Vegas who was hero yesterday seems to have runout of steam and is down 3 through 6
Now Vegas is down by 6, pretty much over.
Texas up by 3 in two other matches.
The first two pairs are even. It looks like (this assumes we hold on to the other two, a big if) that we need to split the first two matches, and take home the trophy.
Hakula lost a stroke on 17 despite getting a birdie. This one goes to 18 all tied up, and it's crucial.
Sheesh, getting very tight. 2-2-1, all tied up.
Now Spieth has lost two shots and is only up by one. This is almost a toss-up at this point.
Damn! Alabama player in first match finishes with an eagle and a birdie, chipping in on the 18th.
Now we lead in 2, will lose 1, and are tied in the other. The match between Frittelli and the #1 Alabama player is even with three holes left, should decide it all.
Two matches are now over, and Alabama won them both.
Texas leads in the other three, Fritelli by one, Spieth by three now, and Gribble (?) by two. They are all shaky leads, but if we hold all three...we win.
Frittelli loses a stroke on 17, it's going to 18 for all the marbles, all tied up. Texas likely to win the other two matches, because we are two up with two holes to play in one, and three up with three holes to play in the other.
So it is all on Frittelli's shoulders.
DYLAN NAILED IT!!! What a tremendous putt. Two putt to win? Nah, he just needs one in clutch time. I wonder if that helps out the Bama golfer who whiffed on his chip? It would not have mattered and I feel for that dude. But, he did not lose it, the Longhorn flat out won it.
Someone in Austin get that pic up tonight on here!
I have to admit I watch the Ryder Cup everytime because of match play and I have been locked in these past few days of match play at college level. They should really consider doing this for more than just top eight and more than just the national championship.
