Matt Rhule Fired

Pooped emoji….because you are right, do NOT want him at OU..
I desire Venables to stay right where he is for as long as possible.
Yes. Exactly. Sooners have to give BV more than one year. Plus, I don’t think Rhule hates puppies. He wouldn’t be a good fit.

But will a personal sense of being a stand-up guy stop him from bolting from KU after just one year?

Then again, he lived in Wisconsin for a long time.
Sorry to have been unclear. Leonard new HC at Wisconsin. Leipold stays at Kansas. Recently heard PJ Fleck possible at Nebraska.

Aha!

I was confusing Leonard with Leipold.

Maybe so. But if I was Wisconsin, I’d grab Rhule over this interim coach.

Fleck might work out all right at Nebraska.

I’m not sure if they can attract the likes of Rhule or Fickell or certainly Urban anymore. Wisc is now a much better program than Nebraska. Shoot, even Ariz State is a better program nowadays than Nebraska—although Ariz State’s new coach will have to deal with some lingering issues/penalties from previous regime(s)…

Maybe Rhule and Urban Meyer could get together and compare notes. Good college head coaches, but can't find their butts with both hands at the pro level.

ASU is the best job out there. Whisky is at best 3 in the B1G in some years and the future includes USC so that will put them back another notch. Nebraska - why go to a school that has no clue? Colorado - see Nebraska (plus no money).

The only downside with ASU is USC leaving. The remaining 10 are going to have to buckle up, but the HS talent in California is such that USC can only take 25 each recruiting season, but the remaining top 75 are still top-shelf.

Wasn’t Baylor in some type of probation when Rhule took over there? if so then he would be no stranger to stepping into that type of mess. If he could turn around ASU, with USC leaving they could be at the top of the PAC 12

Yep. Ariz State will have some short term pain—dragging itself out of the dumpster fire. But it’s at least an A-minus level platform. Huge stadium. Good sized market. Huge student body. Plenty of $$$$. Sitting in a pretty good recruiting area in Ariz. And nearby an excellent (#2 in the nation) recruiting area in So Cal.

Yeah. Frank Kush must be digging himself out of the grave to haunt the ASU admin to HIRE RHULE, HIRE RHULE, HIRE RHULE…. (That and to make the team run wind sprints until they pass out…)

Rhule was just a routine situation where a guy with a lousy roster doesn't turn them into winners and gets canned.

Urban Meyer was one of the all-time worst coaching fiascoes.

I wouldn't be surprised if he waited for Aranda to get hired by someone in the SEC this offseason (Auburnnnnn) before going back to Baylor. He could dominate the new iteration of the XII.

Then we should go after Harsin as offensive analyst.
