marion barber + 2 1st round picks for McFadden

(1) I think it is too much to give up.

(2) "RBs are fungible" is a general rule. There are rare exceptions, such as Adrian Peterson. He is (undoubtedly in my mind) the best back in the draft. If we think this guy is the next Adrian Peterson, go get him.

Those of you that follow the draft, let me ask a question:

Do you really think that Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells are showing their hands 3 months before the draft? This is the type of deal that happens 1 day before the draft after the Cowboys have negotiated a contract with whoever the #1 pick would be.

The ******* combine hasn't even happened.

"You've gone from, possibly, the 4th best RB "

Are you freakin' serious? MBIII as the 4th best RB in the league????
People outside of the delusional Cowboy world might barley put him in the top 10. All of the below have proven they are superior:
LT
AD(Peterson)
Sjax
Larry Johnson
Ronnie Brown(just compare his pre-injury #'s last year)
Bryant Westbrook
Willie Parker
The list below could easily be argued to be just as good or better than MBIII:
F Gore
J Addai
MJ Drew
W McGahee
C Portis

Not saying that the Boys should make such a trade, but MBIII hasn't proven himself to be the top 5 RB Cowboy fans hope him to be....

If McFadden weren't from Jerry's Arkansas, this would have a 0% chance of happening. As it is the chances still aren't that great.

Marcus Spears won't be apart of that trade if it is with Miami. He was the most vocal last season about how bad Parcells made the atmosphere in Dallas.

Exactly, They have greater need at other positions and trading 1st round picks is crazy. Mcfadden hasn't proven anyting in the NFL and Barber has. Jones is just letting the piggy show thru in him. That is crazy way to think in the NFL. Did Kubiak pass on VY or was he there yet? Does sound like something an Agroid would do.

Mickey reported that Switzer said McFadden would be better than AP. Don't believe it. But interesting.

I still would not do it. It's too much money to tie up at RB. There are a ton of RBs in this draft. If they do their homework they can find 1 or 2. They were lucky this year that they did not have an injury at RB.

They need someone better than Jones at rb. With Jerry Jones as the owner nothing would surprise me what the Cowboys do in the draft, he takes alot of chances.

this is stupid even if the cowboys needed a RB but the fact is they don't....they could problaby re-sign Jones and go with a 2 back rotation....if they really had to.....there was nothign wrong with this approach last year.

Okay so this bothered me enough to call my "inside man" my Father.yes yes yes...the man knows more about what is happening inside the Boy's front office than most beat writers

He said this was all taken out of context thus a rumor and what Jerry said was something like "i'll talk to bill about trading up but if bill did it it would take our 2 first rounders and barber".....

I haven't seen a direct quote by JJ on this, just numerous rumors floating around the interwebs.

Nick Eatman, former Razorback and current dallascowboys.com staff writer has a pretty good take on this, albeit a slightly biased one.
