well this is a post I didnt want to have to make. But my friend's brother, Sgt. Byron Norwood, was killed early sat. in action in Fallujah. I dont know how many of you read the article in the Statesman this morning. I've known the Norwood family for over 5 years, and this is quite shocking. Byron was 2 years older than me, but we were in band together, and well than band at pville used to be one big family. I cant begin to image what the Norwood's are going through. Byron was an incredible person, and a dedicated Marine, he loved the Corps and his job, and was never afraid to do what he had to do. Pray for their family if you can, his younger brother Colin is at Tech, and he is one of my good friends, his sister Grayson is finishing up at UT.

Prayers to his family and friends and to all the troops .

I read about him yesterday when I came across a list of names.

My oldest and dearest friends son is out of Pendelton and in Iraq and was in Fallujah.
I pray for all the troops.

God Bless Sgt. Norwood and his Family.

They are all true American Heroes.

I have just learned of his life and I will never forget his name thanks to the national appearance of his wonderful Mother and Father. They are great parents for embedding into American history the name of their son and his gift to liberty in the world.

God bless Byron and his family.

God Bless the Norwood's family. I do not know Marine Byron Norwood but my heart broke when I heard about his death on TV. I, too, lost my brother in combat in Balad, Iraq on September 10, 2004. My condolences to the Norwood Family. Byron will never be forgotten. Thank you brave soldier! Thank you Byron! ----- God's Flower Garden ----- It's hard to lose the ones we love, to see them pass away, The sweetest and the kindest gone, while others are left to stay! But if we had a garden, with roses fair and bright, We'd often pick the loveliest and think it to be right. And so it is with Jesus in His earthly garden here; He often picks the fairest flowers, the ones we love so dear. The flowers that are picked by Him will never fade away. We know Byron will live forever, and we'll see him some sweet day.

I was in 2 bands with Byron at Pflugerville High...I graduated in 96 and I think he was 2 years younger than I was....He was a really genuine person and will be surely missed....I also went to school with his 2 brothers: Scott and Grand Norwood.

I heard the other day that President Bush during his State of the Union Address mentioned Byron's name....his parents were in the crowd and he had them stand up and they received a standing ovation. I also heard the way that Byron died....very heroic....apparently someone threw a grenade into a room he was in...he jumped on top of it, sacrificing his own life, but saving many others....I am proud to have known this kid, this man, this HERO.
