Mack Brown is 60; Art Briles is 56

I was shocked they are so close in age.
Genetics, I guess.

But the TV announcer said he and Bennett are good guys. I am confused. Who do I believe? More importantly, I don't care.
 
Enlighten me as to the history of Art Briles. I remember hearing something about him being an *** to Mack but never knew the specifics.
 
LongJohn, Briles and Leach fu%^k over Mack and the Longhorns in 09 by voting them 6th or 7th when we were 2 or three. When asked briles said some smart *** remark about Texas.

I seem to recall that Briles wanted his son to play QB at Texas and he wound
up on defense/special teams. Briles got a woody for Mack and has not let up.

If you recall when younger briles didn't get to play QB at Texas, he transferred to U of H to play for his daddy. His daddy then realized his son wasn't good enough to start there either so he ended up playing DB and WR there I think.
 
I am right smack in the middle of Mack and Briles....

I choose NOT to color my hair as MACK has....just sayn'...

SABAN, LES, BALL COACH...MANY MORE in college sports....sit and let someone color their hair at least every two weeks....TRUST ME...
 
briles is a good coach and has been at every level.

MacArthur was a good general.

romo is a good guy and rothlisberger is a sociopath; one goes to superbowls and the other into the pants of various good looking women with their permission.

I would rather be romo but rather have the sociopath as my qb.
 
Briles' son, Kendall, was recruited as a safety, and played sparingly at safety and special teams. He missed most of the season he was supposed to start due to severe ankle injury. He had two interceptions in a bowl game, IIRC. He transferred to UH when his dad was hired on there .

Briles is a prick. I remember after the first UT/Baylor game with Briles as coach, when the two met at midfield after the game to shake, Briles was in Mack's face about something. Mack looked pretty taken aback by it, but I never heard or read anything more about it. Also, I recently had a lengthy conversation with a prior HS official who worked in the Stepenville district when Briles coached there. He diplomatically said Briles was an enormous jerk and routinely coached his players up dirty. With all the trash talking and taunting they did in our last game, I find that pretty believable.
 
Once RG is gone it will be a long, long time before Baylor beats us. If we have a QB next year, they won't beat us even with RG.
 
If the Texas coach loses 3 games in a season people start talking about getting rid of him. This might explain Mack Brown's gray. They're on completely different stages. 9-3 at Baylor means Briles is a genius.
