when obama proposed his first out of whack budget he explained that this was not sustainable and was a stop gap Five years on the deficit is shrinking but still there and the debt is out of sight and still growing. I don't blame the tea party people for being frightened and aggravated.

But if the gov quits spending in excess of revenues the bubble will definitely bust and we have a full scale disaster on our hands that will make 2008 look like child's play.

The Keyenesian fix is the only one that even looks like it will work.

Liberals are now referring to Cruz as Tail Gunner Ted in homage to Joe McCarthy, who was not hispanic. And frankly, watching Ted speak, he doesn't sound like many hispanics I know and nothing like any of the ones I am blood relatives with.

The liberal attack on Ted has nothing to do with ethnicity and everything to do with policy. Are all the republcan conservatives who hate him in the congress racists as well?

Calling somebody a racist is like calling people fascists, a habit that is nothing but abuse.

Rafael has been around for all of Senator Cruz's rearing and even now. Rafael did not run away from the family so using the same first name , like in most families with a father and son with same name could have been considered confusing.

thanks, I have been pointing out to my lib friends since day one that the people who hate BO were just as stupid and vicious with their attacks on Clinton as with BO----same stupid bs about him being a communist, hating america, etc.

It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with politics. The same attacks were made on FDR and Truman and JFK was soft on communism and LBJ was the same even while waging a war on the red ********

NOTE the bloat in the budget or spending was between 2007 and 2011 and who was in charge of Congress?
 
Cherry picking major. There was a recession and a financial disaster during those years, of course revenue went down.
 
LBJ didn't attack commies? How come so many of my classmates got killed in viet nam? And for those who don't recall or weren't around, the LBJ is a commie routine was reasonably common. My nutcase right wing uncle was so claiming in the fifties and the guy who told me about Kennedy getting shot ended his sentence with "...and now that communist Johnson is president."

And Majordumbass, calling democrats communists (remember 20 years of treason?) was a major right wing trope from Truman's administration on. The moderate republicans like Eisenhower sat mute while the Ted Cruzes of the day walked amok calling liberals communists.
 
huisache, I don't know about the people you list above, but I have read articles and seen documentation that there were multiple high ranking Democrats during the cold war who were in fact communist I don't think the term should be used to brand people unjustly but it is also dangerous to discount or ignore it when people in our government are shown to be "playing for the other team".
