LSU @ Texas Game Thread

As long as Dup learns from this, it will be worth it. Onto Cal St. Fullerton, I want to see the great pitching and defense continue this weekend with coach finding someone that can help this team offensively. Would like to see some changes to the lineup.

Bright spots: LBJ, Hurley. Fantastic throw by Kennedy to get a runner at the plate in the 2nd. Not so bright spots: How many guys in the lineup hitting below .200?

Tough result tonight but there is reason for optimism because the pitching with the exception of one game has been outstanding overall and the hitting will eventually come. It just will hopefully come soon enough that the Horns don't waste too many more great pitching outings like tonight. I knew this was going to be a tough start to the year and frankly had just hoped to be over .500 after next weekend. That is unlikely now but as tough a schedule as this rebuilding team had to start the year isnt a surprise. Long season ahead and these early games can and should pay dividends in April and May, the team just has to fight through. The Pierce haters will be sharpening their knives but that makes this no different than any other season since he came to the 40 acres.

They always come out of the woodwork when things go sideways. Same as the Sark haters, and the Terry haters.

Now Rodriguez is an assistant coach who should be on a hot seat. He left Baylor in absolute shambles, and hitting doesn't look so swell around here yet. Maybe he can come through, maybe he can't, but assistant coaches don't get as much rope as head coaches get around here. We miss Tulo.

Need to get more Powell, more Ace Whitehead, more Belyeu, more Galvan, and more Carlson in the batting lineup somehow.

Powell can play almost anywhere
Galvan is C or DH (and Guillamette has been quite well at bat thus far)
Carlson is 3rd base or DH
Belyeu can play multiple positions
Ace Whitehead can play multiple positions

Thomas may be starting to work out of his slump.

I hope it comes soon for Jack, because that dude has some serious power in his bat. But we can't wait forever...

Daly is batting in the high 200s (was over 300 this weekend)--he's looking more like 2021 Daly than 2022 Daly at the plate. That's good.

Great. Another moral victory. I feel like an Aggie.

OK, but we have to be realistic. We are unranked with a team batting average around .225 and we just took the #1 team into the 9th inning before they could score. I was at the game and the atmosphere was very good. We did better in this game by quite a bit than I expected.

I only saw the last 2 innings but was shocked we were in the game till the last part. Coudnt understand pulling the pitcher after the 8th. Seemed to have a very good slider and just didnt make sense to me. Luckily I am not the coach so pierce will have to find some bats or he will have a very hot seat by year end. Pitching does seem to be pretty descent with the exception of the 9th inning. Crowd seemed really good but it was the #1 ranked team in town.
