Looks like Mike Davis will make it official this weekend per one of his coaches. Interesting what this does with Nelson and it actually makes some since that all of the sudden now he's talking with Texas about coming down for a visit with Davis. This is great news!!!!!!

I hate to have to call you out on this Bonedry, but this news is somewhat better than great.

This is the Mike Davis that totally dominated Adrian White and anyone else that DeSoto put on him in the playoffs.

Mike Davis is currently committed to LSU, but it looks like he is talking to UT now. He would be a great addition if we can land him.

I don't believe it. Why would it be rumored for weeks and why would he wait until this weekend in particular? If he wants to switch and we're still offering what's the holdup? It's not like he's opting out of a contract extension or something. I'm not buying it..... but i hope i'm wrong.

Hmmmm...
I sorta doubt that hes jumping up & down because Davis isn't coming.
Must be something else.

FYI, LSU is self-investigating a recruiting violation and the rumor is that it was their WR coach who is one of their better recruiters. He might even have been replaced, I don't recall. This could be what's causing Davis to waver.

Looks like the LSU boards (Tigerdroppings) are now thinking Davis will visit and probably commit when he is here...

you know, i'm puzzled about something. i have seen it stated a couple of times that darius might be scared off by mike davis if he commits. something about not getting a shot at playing as a freshman because of mike's presence.

i don't get that. they are very different receivers, and if both come in precocious and both pick up the offense quickly, i don't see why the prospect of having a latter-day jordan shipley in the rotation wouldn't be an advantage for darius. i can see that early in the year we probably wouldn't want two freshmen on the field at the same time very often, but later in the season when things heat up and both, possibly, are settled into the rotation, i can't help but see the presence of mike davis being a good thing for all three or four other receivers out there. (i'm including tight end as a receiver, of course, and rb in the empty set.)

same is true for darius. i can't see how having him on the field wouldn't improve things for mike or whoever else is out there if he is ready to contribute.

have we ever stated that only one true freshman receiver can play?

It didn't matter to Roy Williams, Tony Jeffrey, and BJ Johnson, so why would it matter to these guys?

might want to check your facts on that one Ruby Soho. He committed last weekend over the phone. This makes it official.
