Longhorns in the Portal 2021

I know I’ll be lambasted, but if I told my wife I was going to the Match.com portal to see my options- I would be dismissed.

Love to see that be the case here. Best of luck, truly. But adios.

Someone on ESPN radio made an interesting suggestion this morning:

Regarding NIL deals, any player who portals from the school where his NIL deal was made has the deal immediately terminated.

I agree wholeheartedly and would think/expect that would be the case, but who knows in these crazy times.

If Adeoye and Cooks couldn't get consistent run ahead of the LBs we played with all year then I don't blame them for going somewhere else. Can't imagine many power 5 schools with worse LB play than we had though.
 
It would be interesting to find out how many of these kids are interested in academics anymore. Maybe we should just do away with academic scholarships.It wont be long before we have free agency,draft choices,salary caps and so on. College Football is now the NFL minors.

I am not sure that I can agree with this. When you look at all the scholarships that TH gave out to WRs and how many division 1 WRs he left behind.... What a mess. I always wondered why all the Olineman who did not make it, left the team but the WRs stayed. I say good move Coleman minus the recruiting misses.
 
Wease and Haselwood are both now officially in portal. I hope we are putting on a full court press for them. They won't be in there much longer. Stogner heading to South Carolina.
 
If you have been in the portal for 2 YEARS and no one wants you maybe you need to reevaluate.
Do WE still have to provide the schollie?
 
I am a bit dissapointed that this list is not at least a little longer. I thought one of Sark's strategies was to weed out all the malcontents. Losing 4-5 players to the portal who never did much does not seem like weeding out the malcontents. In fact, it seems to be more or less in line with every other college football team. Also, it seems like the guys are taking their time at least making it look like it is their decision except for the first 2-3.
