Longhorns 2024 SEC Opponents

I hate that location.

First: its in College Station. Ewww.
Second: the intrinsic motivation calculus is all wrong. Our guys are playing a game against a middling team that's surrounded by a bunch of crazy people having what looks to be repeated tourettes episodes. Their guys are engaged in a jihad against the t-sipping infidels.

That game will be tough.
It will either be their bowl game by then or all of the remaining players will be distracted by the portal. Now that everyone can pay players, aggie lost their momentum and it is headed in the wrong direction. If ND and Florida give aggie early losses, could get really ugly even against teams they should beat. I think their team next year will be less than this year albeit with an easier schedule.

How do we get 7 home games plus 2 others in Dallas and collie station? I got the answer: only 8 conference games instead of our usual 9 in the B12

The last RRR may be the lone loss thru seasons 23 and 24. Entails 1 NC and a win in the 25 semis before a second NC game in early 26

Oh My

It’s odd that Georgia will finish its SEC slate on 11/16. After that game, most other teams will still have 2 conference games in hand (and maybe three, depending on kickoff times).

Wow! Texas could play Michigan in the National Championship game, and then play them again on September 7, 2024. If the National Championship game is close, and Texas wins, then I could see the September 7, 2024 matchup being #1 vs. #2.

If Texas wins a close NC game, then I see the 2024 polls keeping us at #1 or #2, with Michigan in the other position. If Texas loses the NC game, then I see next year's polls dropping us down below #2, which would mean the September 7th game would not be #1 vs. #2. It would probably be #1 Michigan vs. #4 Texas, or something like that. In either case, it will be a big game! However, #1 vs. #2 in the regular season has a special significance. Those are the games every college football fan remembers years later.

Being born just outside of Lexington, I am looking forward to the KY game. We have some great other home games at DKR…this going to be fun.

The worst possible record A&M will have coming into T+2 2024 is 8-3. That schedule is absolute cake beyond a Daniels-less LSU and a Mizzou team that's bound to regress from an overachieving 2023.

I'm not intrinsically worried that the Aggies will field some kind of powerhouse of a team next year. I just have always thought that the motivational factors often lean towards A&M.

Seriously, tens of thousands of aggie fans crammed together in a stadium is just different (read: bizarre). Ags hate us, like we're an older cousin who inherited the family fortune and pretends they don't exist. We would like to pretend they don't exist because they're an embarrassment to the family. They view the game as a chance at some kind of redemption. We view it like dealing with the crazy uncle who you have to plan to not sit next to at Thanksgiving.

What if I told you aggy has a history of underachieving such as turning a top five preseason ranking into dead last in the SEC at 5-7?

Time to bump this, let the work begin.

I look forward to Sping Ball and the good to come form the new guys starting in a couple of weeks.
