The gap between A&M and the normal schools in Texas has always been there. In other words the other Division 1 schools in Texas all see A&M as a joke. I don't buy that about Aggies writing all the Aggie jokes, we've all been telling them for years.

Now take your little corpie cult and go embarrass yourselves in the SECond, just stop name dropping the rest of us while trying to prove your importance. The SECond is about to figure out exactly the gap between how important you think you are, and how important you actually are.

Now about that game which used to be. 75-37-5. and 11 of the last 16. And for whatever random number you pull out which will include your cheating Sherrill and Slocum years, I ask this: How did you do against Tech during that span, or OU, or LSU, or Arkansas. Beating Texas just isn't gonna work much for you any longer. Go tell Alabama how mnay times you beat Texas in the life span of your 30 years old dog, and watch em laugh. No one gives a ****, and no one ever did outside of you cult compound.

Texas was cheating back then as well and got busted for it. Would have been interesting to see what would be uncovered if the DMN decided to go on witch hunts against Texas like they did SMU and A&M. The SWC was dirty and I know this may be a shock but college football is dirty now too, they have just gotten a lot better at working around the rules. I will give you guys props though, getting Charles Allan Wright to write the book on NCAA infractions was BRILLIANT.

Make fun of the Ags all you want but realize that A&M currently has a winning streak against every single college in Texas. We are going to be fine. I'm sure you guys will go ahead and win a conference game at home one of these days too.

Today I heard a statement from Baylor's women's basketball coach, Kim Mulkey, with a prepared statement she gave at the annual Big 12 basketball get-together. Today was the women's turn, tomorrow the men. Kansas City venue.

This statement was carefully prepared, saying she was pretty sure she'd be asked the question, and the statement was read by "The Drive" (Ketch and Chad) on Austin's ESPN affiliate 104.9 FM, The Horn.

I'm not being ugly. No disrespect.

I just think maybe there are some pockets of Texas (like around Houston or Huntsville) where there are about as many Aggies as there are Texas-Exes and that consequently affects the pandering media which in turn skews ones perspective into imagining the Texas versus Texas A&M rivalry is something bigger than it is.

Outside 1975 to 1994 when A&M's glory years (read: flagrant NCAA violations) coincided with our post-DKR funk, Texas has dominated the series with a 71% winning percentage.

That's not a rivalry.

It is a rivalry to the incorrigibly delusional indomitable Aggies who haven't won a national championship since 1939, haven't won a conference championship since 1998 and they haven't won a bowl game since 2001, yet still imagine they're as good as anybody and certainly better than Texas.

Their entire identity is defined by their hatred of Texas.

That petulance led them out of the Big 12. Why celebrate Thanksgiving together?

Good riddance.

I am a UT grad, my bother is a UT grad, and my son is currently a Jr at UT.

I live in Katy, which is near Austin and College Station. Katy is home to many Aggie engineers that work in the energy industry. Many of my neighbors and coworkers are A&M grads.

I have made several posts on a few other threads on this topic, and I have found that my opinion is in the minority on this site.

I agree that A&M is like our little brother that wants to prove to the world that they do not need thier big brother anymore. The best way to prove to them that they are still just pretenders is to keep slapping them around on the field. Even after they join the mighty SEC. Pretending that they are no longer here just seems weak to me.

When Thanksgiving 2012 comes around, many folks that wanted the game to end will feel like something is missing, they will not admit it, but it will not feel right.
If the SEC decides to schedule A&M vs LSU on TV against UT vs Baylor/Tech then it will seem ever worse to me.

Maybe someone will reply with some of the arguements I have already seen........like A&M is no longer our rival. I don't buy it. If they are not a rival, they why is there so much passion about this issue on this site? I don't recall many threads about the Colorado or Nebraska games being gone.

That is my take, and I hope the football game is continued. I don't care about basketball, baseball or any of the other sports, just play the game every year.

SHS, I understand your feelings about this. I would rather we play schools in Texas than West Virginia or Louisville or whomever. That said, aggy made their bed and decided to end their conference alignment with Texas. Their primary reason is to get a recruiting advantage over Texas. Why should we help them in that regard?
 
SHS is absolutely right. IT will seem odd the first Thanksgiving out where we will seem as if something is missing.

I will get over it. And there is nothing better that I like than a post turkey aggy beat down.
I hate them worse than herpes.

I have said it before but if aggy plays Al Qaeda I will buy an Osama T shirt.
