Somebody let Obama know to get off the campaign trail and do something. The US is under new attacks from the friendly religion.

The US Ambassador in Libya is dead. Time for the President to show some foreign policy strengths he bragged about last week.
 
No doubt BO is in a tough spot BUT it is a spot of his own making.


I hope seeing that Ammbassdor's body drug through the streets while the Libyan gov't BO helped put in power did nothing wakes a few people up/
 
Hurricane Issac. As soon as the RNC was over Romney annouced a trip to New Orleans. a few hours later Obama announced his trip even though he had plenty of time to decide. Today Romney announces at 8:15am central time that he would be holding a new conference to speak on the Libya Ambassador assasination. About 15 minutes later BHO announce he will have a statement. Obama is not a leader and is just following the lead of Romney.

This was the first tweets for both Candidate yesterday moring.

Mitt Romney = "On this most somber day, America is united under God in its quest for peace and freedom at home and across the world.

Barrack H Obama = "The election is in 8 weeks. Sign up to volunteer."

BHO leads from behind and thinks about himself first before others on a day that should be saved for remembrance.

First thing we do is apologize to the ******** that killed unarmed innocent persons on foreign soil that had nothing to do with an obscure film? The extremists were just looking for any reason to attack, riot and kill.

That said, the film maker is an idiot. How do win people to your faith on either side of the ocean producing such drivel?

One of the hardest things for Non-Westerners to understand is our freedom of expression. No matter how vile or detestable, Americans have a right to express their opinions, even when their hamhandedness will result in angry mobs and certain deaths. I'm sure somewhere this movie maker is enjoying all the attention just like that doofus Koran-burner. Hey some people are goning to die and what I am expressing has no uplifting value, but hey, I have freedom of expression and the eyes of the world are on me.
I know on some level these killings are the work of a murderous mob, not the ******** who incited them. But the actions of ignorant angry masses is predictible, witness the false accusations of black on white rape last century that quickly resulted in angry mobs and riotous destuction of black business districts in Tulsa OK and Sherman, TX. This movie maker, that Koran burner and those who made the false accusations of rape must experience the same sort of joy that sports writers who used to provoke John McEnroe to anger would feel as they wrote about the angry outbursts they caused. I'm not perverse enough to understand it, but it sure makes me sick.
 
What actually is this Movie that so enraged the angry muslims?
I have not seen the title mentioned and I am not aware there was a recent anti islam movie out there.

How do these people in these supposedly 3rd world countries know about a movie being shown here in USA?

I am sad for BO then, that his priorities are so selfish
and I am even sadder for our country that we have a POTUS with such selfish priorities to pu himself ahead of an event that changed most of us and certainly changed our lives.

Your liberal writer Jake Tapper has butchered what actually happened. He took parts of Romney's later comments and included his original comments that was about Egypt only. His later comments were about both Egypt and Libya. He has his timeline completely wrong as I understand it. I can't link what didn't happen.

OMG! I just had a friend direct me to a website that shows pics of Christopher Stevens being dragged through the streets. This is outrageous and pretty disturbing to look at.
 
Romney is not the president. Obama is the president of the United States. What action has the President of the United States taken in response to having our consulates sacked (an attack on the US) and American citizens killed?
Forget everything else, what action has the President of the United States taken in response to being attacked?

What actions, economic or otherwise, has our POTUS taken against the governments of Egypt and Libya that did not protect our embassies? Nothing. What a coward.

He allowed our embassies to be sacked and Americans killed
on 9/11 under the ruse of a film and has done nothing. Clint had it right, an empty chair.
 
So when a German Tourist gets raped and murdered in Miami should Germans immediately impose sanctions and plot a military response? I don't think so, and I don't think the U.S. should turn over management of its foreign policies to jingoists who haven't the faintest notion of the impact their immediate response might have. Should we find governments collusion, one kind of response is appropriate. Were governments just inept at maintaining order in a chaotic time? Maybe another sort of response would be appropriate.
I'm sure Mitt, and Ivan Diablo Horn already know what to do, but maybe giving our state department time to get input from diplomats, military experts and analysts is not too much to ask? Excuse me if I'm a little skeptical about the quality of advice from internet tough guys who are awfully quick to get a handle on complex situations that require careful thought from experts.
 
What did Reagan do when they blew up our marines in Lebanon?

He invaded Grenada !!!! Obama should land a few thousand marines in Grenada to secure the place. Maybe Clint Eastwood will make a movie about it.
 
I expect him to have a more seasoned response to an international crisis than apologizing for a movie and promising to work with the wolves to make sure nothing else happens in the chicken coop.

Is it an easy answer? No. Is it his responsibility as President to respond effectively? Yes.

In my opinion, sitting idle has much worse consequences than taking action. If this is the response, I would start evacuating all US Embassies while the new President Carter works on re-election.

Maybe he took the same actions that GWB did to protect us against Muslim terrorists flying planes into buildings in NYC and killing thousdands of Americans.

But I guess he gets a pass as he is not Obama.
 
A German tourist getting raped in Miami is not the same as two of our embassies getting attacked, destroyed and Americans killed while the host governments do nothing. An attack on our embassies, is an attack on the USA and the people in power of those two countries are complicit.

Pull our consulates, send their ambassadors home.

Immediatly cut off any aid money and food being sent to either country, let them eat sand.

Hold the people in power that run these 2 countries accountable as they allowed the attacks on on the USA on9/11/12. Let them try to hang on to power without our help, they had their chance.

The film is a ruse/cover for the attack and not worthy of being in the conversation. But if it has to addressed, the statement is "The USA believes in free speech and we don't care if you dont like it."

Then send each of them a bill for everything we have spent in either country for the last 2 years. When paid we can discuss diplomatic relations.

Oh, and I really don't care who runs those two countries, if they want our help it will be on our terms.

We have a coward for POTUS.
 
When Lebanese captured an American major in Beiruit we responded with battleship shelling of an Arab neighborhood during the Reagan Administration. I don't think that was in our best long term interest, but it certainly satisfies the tough guy need to respond immediately with force.

Maybe a response as harsh as IDH suggests will be appropriate. I don't think taking time to plot such a response is inexcusable.
 
Thanks for your insight Ivan. Please share with everyone your resume detailing your expertise in foreign relations so no one will accuse you of being an "Arm-Chair Quarterback". I don't know about everyone else, but I'm sure glad that you clearly know what it will take to resolve this matter the right way. By the way, can you also explain to me all the intricacies involved in this situation so we simpletons can understand why your plan is superior to the President's?
