LHN carrier question

Is there any concern that we are less than 30 days from the launch date and as far as I have heard no carrier has announced publicly that they will be carrying the network. I apologize in advance if there has been some announcement and I missed it.

I haven't seen an announcement but have noticed more commercials for LHN. I thought I heard that announcements on carriers would be made in early August. WIsh they would get the deals done but suspect everyone will take it to the last minute trying to leverage the best deal they can.

Just keep requesting every day that your local cable provider carry the LHN--the more times each day, the better.

The chances of the Longhorn Network being shown in Bandera are very slim.

So, ESPN thinks this is such a good idea that they commit HUNDREDS of millions of dollars over the next two decades and we need to beg our local providers to make it available? At first I was excited about LHN but now I'm thinking it's a tricked out version of BEVOD, and I got bored with that real fast. I'd be happy if the stupid Big 12 would open up to local carriers for more baseball games and let it go at that. LHN won't show you any more than fluff pieces between game coverage anyway. Deloss and co will protect the brand image at all costs.

90% of LHN air time will be devoted to the LHB. Happy?

I heard that LHN will be broadcasting HS halftimes of schools with prospective LHB recruits. B12-2 didn't say anything about halftime!

I'm only happy when I'm called an "idoit" for having an opinion on hornfans, thanks. Especially when you offer nothing to back up your statement. Pay whatever they will charge to see hours of Mack Brown fluff pieces.

And no, I don't want 90% LHB coverage, 80% will be just fine.

I'm sure the answer to this question is "No," but is it at all possible to just order a select game without the entire LHN subscription? In other words, can I just order the Rice game instead of subscribing to the entire network?

I've always thought a "10 Best" show like they do on the MLB Network would be great for something like the LHN.

10 Best RBs.
10 Best Pitchers.
10 Best Football moments.
10 Best nonconference games.
10 Best basketball players.

You could turn each episode into 40 minutes with 20 minutes of commercials. Interview former players, coaches, and guys like Bohls or Golden for fodder.

If the LHN is just going to be a regional network, why not offer an online subscription so people can stream the LHN on their computer regardless of where they are?

What I am worried about, is how much lead time will we have to change carriers. If they wait until 2-3 days before the game, there may not be enough time to schedule an installation.

Hopefully we will know in a week or so.

Very strange that we haven't found out the answer yet. My thinking is that they the cable carriers are trying to figure out how much to charge for this network. There is no way this going to be part of my standard digital cable lineup and probably not even part of my standard sports package. I am guessing I will be shelling out between 5 and 10 bucks extra a month for this. We'll see.

FYI, for those who have U-verse they have added "UT TV" in the "Sports" drop down for requested new stations. Not sure if "UT TV" is supposed to be Longhorn Network.

I for one can't cange providers in a couple of days. Heck, if I miss the one football game this year it will be at least next year before I do change. I can't be the only person thinking this therefore it can't be good for the network if most people think this way.

It's just a headline that says "Hot Air: DirecTV becomes first carrier to reach agreement with Longhorn Network", but no actual story. So, not sure how credible that is. I'm a Directv customer so I hope it's accurate
