Let's all take a step back...

Interesting interview last night with FL Gov Scott. He indicated that FL will not implement ACA and not set up exchanges required by the bill. Sounds like WI and TX are taking the same route. He believes the original 26 states to the suit will follow this course and others could join as well. Not out of spite for the ACA, they just don't have the money. The Fed Gov can't come in behind and set up the exchanges because the funding for that isn't in the original legislation. They will need the House to fund that.....fat chance under the current configuration.

Sangre,

Maybe your and my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren won't have the luck, work ethic, inheritance, or whateverthehell you want to call their future financial situation to get good health care, like millions of American children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren now.

Who is the one being selfish here? Sounds like you think it's all about you and yours.

I have good health care with my company. I'd like to see everyone have access to affordable health care.

If you think that's being "selfish" on my part, you can KMA, Bill.

"I don't see any valid reason for us to support illegal aliens with our tax dollars."

Hospitals and clinics WILL see them and WILL give them some amount of care; they will not let them hurt in the waiting room or die in the parking lot.

Who do you think is going to cover those costs? The docs and hospital will get theirs; the ins cos.will not lose theirs. It will be the insured. This has been discussed over and over. How can you not get it? Better to compel EVERYONE to have some coverage.

Bat, my company will not be dropping their plan, and if you think otherwise about most any corp, you're projecting / hoping based on your political bent, and basically talking out your ***.

The only crying around here has been from you rightwingers over the last two SC decisions.

Maybe huge corporations will, but many small companies will either drop it, let employees go or stop hiring. And if you think otherwise you are talking out of your ***, to use your crude words. But keep drinking the koolaid - it obviously tastes good to your smug sense of taste.

Chris,
I apologize for writing the post using "your" and "your children", etc. I meant the question as a generality, but it was written as though I personally directed it at you.

I find our society at large wanting to have our own "free health care" to be selfish in the extreme. I find the costs associated with such a desire to be grossly unfair to the poor ******** who are eventually going to have to pay the bill, those poor ******** being the next couple of generations of adults who come after you and I are feeding the worms.

If our government wasn't 15 trillion in debt and piling more on every second of every day, this could be a discussion worth having. However, economic reality being what it is, the only discussion worth having right now is how much can we STOP spending through the federal gov't, and how quickly can we do it?

Mesohorny,

Better to compel everyone to have insurance because illegals are getting care in the emergency room?

What kind of logic is that?

Do I have to have kids too so I can have even more coverage? Does just taking care of myself not cut it either?

"Hey that guy doesnt have a family! Hes paying way less than me and my family of 6!" Not fair! Not fair!"

Where does it stop? I choose because I am an individual. I have individual freedoms. Well I used to. I used to have a choice. Not anymore. This isnt America.
