Leach could never go to a "buttoned down" sort of place where they take football (and themselves) way too seriously. He wins a lot of games, but he ruffles a lot of feathers along the way. Some uptight places would feel that he doesn't "project the right image for our school", etc. (Mangino has the same problem, but for a different reason).

Provided it's not done by cheating, I'll take winning a lot of games without concern over whose ox gets gored, whose feathers are ruffled, how fat or ugly the coach is, or what eccentricities the coach might have. Not everyone feels that way.

[caveat -- if the coach is running a program where the players are gang-raping co-eds or doing armed robberies, etc., that's a deal breaker for me as well. That sort of thing was never a Leach issue to my knowledge.]
