last minute aggy losses

So does this put their class out of the top 10?

Either way aggy's class has been impressive given how underwhelming the Sherman era has been so far.

These losses will drop them from their #15 ranking. Not a great day for the agroids but still a very good one, all things considered.

*Note: P Joe, they were never a strong top 10 ranking. ESPN started them off today at 15. If they stay at 15, and I doubt it, the way ND, UCLA & Oregon are making HUGE pushes will knock the aggy collective back at least 2-3 spots. Again a good day for the ags but other schools are looking to have a great day.

I like a good laugh at aggy as much as the next guy, but I would honestly prefer Nelson went to A&M where he couldn't do any harm.

Bad news. I'd prefer to see the top Texas HS talent stay in the state. The quicker we can seal the border at the Red River, the better.

Still, aggy did sign a very good class.

Nelson should have gone to TCU. IT is the 2nd best team in the state, and done similarly as well as OU over the past 3 or 4 years.

I can't believe Jake Matthews chose freaking Aggy

I really wanted him at SC. We need interior linemen badly. I could certainly understand Texas if he wanted to stay in-state but A&M? Isn't his brother out of eligibility so they won't play on the same team together.

Sadly for the ags they desperately needed defensive help. They lost their only two stars in this class in Fobbs, and certainly Nelson. Had to see the Nelson train wreck coming. He contacted our coaching staff in the past month but was told no, we were full with the expected signing of a certain Ohio LB.

"i'd say jake matthews was a star in this class."

I was talking about defense in my post. Yes, Matthews and the o-line class are good.

L$U stole one of TxTech's guys too. (WR - Boone)

Are there any programs in College Football more shady than OU & L$U?? Kiffin is quickly getting into that conversation, but those 2 lead the way.

aTm needed 2 things: OL and impact players on D. I'm assuming Fobbs was penciled-in for the secondary, so losing both of them (him + Nelson) is going to leave a mark. But there is no better class of OL anywhere else.

I get as much humor as anyone watching "Charlie Brown U" consistently snatch defeat out of the jaws of a victory, but aTm deserved better today. De-committing is an unfortunate side of early commits, but it is acceptable if it is handled the right way. Neither Nelson or Fobbs did that. I'll be rooting for them to have similiar collegiate careers to that of Ryan Perriloux and Fred Rouse. (Yes, I realize Rouse never committed to us, but he's still a POS.)

I know that many recruits do this all the time but what ever happened to "let your yes be yes and your no, no?" I smell a rat in both decomitts from A&M. I have no issue as far as switching, its just bad business to say one thing and do another whether it be the coach or player.

tom, more than likely so. LSU was on fobbs as a DB early, which worked in our favor because we were solely recruiting him as a WR.

they lost davis to yall, and miles made the push to fobbs to let him play WR to get him there.

he'll never see the field as a WR, he's a DB all the way for the coonasses.

There is always at least the appearance of sleeziness when a recruit switches committment at the last minute. It sure doesn't pass the smell test, but then again, maybe College Station doesn't either.

a rumor from someone supposedly in the know is that our coaches spoke with him last night at 9 pm and he reassured them that he was going to sign with A&M.

i suppose he got off the phone and texted "lol" to venebles.

If you enjoy true Aggy misery, check out this thread on TexAgs.

It was created on 1/15, posting what recruit they were most excited about. Lots of Fobbs and Nelson on there.

Could you imagine how you would be feeling if Hicks and Jeffcoat has signed elsewhere today? OK, not exactly comparable!
