Lance Berkman: Future Longhorn Coach?

Unless we hire someone like Hitler, UT will always have my support. I remember the Mackovic days. I root for the team in orange.


Would Lance be an awful move? Probably, unless he has experience, but that doesn't mean it's time for me to give up my season tickets. Win or lose, it's still your team.

It's like leaving this country because Obama/Bush is your president.
 
Since he loves the Austin area so much, maybe he can take over for Harrington in San Marcos when Harrington takes over for Augie in Austin.

what's this about Larry Bird not being a successful coach?

* 1998: 58–24, Eastern Conference Runner-Up
* 1999: 33–17, Central Division Champions, Eastern Conference Runner-Up (note: season was shortened due to lockout)
* 2000: 56–26, Eastern Conference Champions, NBA Finals Runner-Up

he only coached three years. pretty solid record to me. 68.7% winning percentage.

also, not sure if I'd put Berkman down to be a HOF lock at this point. I love the guy as an astro, but the stros didn't exactly rush him up to the bigs. he's 33 years old and doesn't even have 300 bombs or 1500 hits.

and remember...baseball players who don't use steroids usually don't peak in their mid to late 30's.
