KSU vs Texas Game 3

I like that we came back and got the sweep after losing on Tuesday. Good job Clemens and the team! We swept Kansas State in basketball and baseball this year which is nice since they always seem to be a thorn in our side. Let's take care of business in our four road games this week!

First, we must thank BevoBeef, for the video highlights!

Texas gets the sweep that they really had to get if they are to stay in the thick of the conference race. KSU is just not very good and losing home games to teams like this will really hurt you.

More good pitching and some timely extra base hits put the game away today. It was the theme of the series as the pitching was good as it usually is and some timely hitting was the recipe for a sweep.

So after six home conference games, against frankly, not so good teams, the Horns go 5-1 and may find themselves at the top of the pack in Big 12 play, as OSU leads TCU 6-0 in the fifth inning.

But hold the celebrations, as the conference schedule will get much harder and many of those games will be on the road. Texas still has to find a closer, that they can rely on and clean up the base running mistakes, that will kill you in close games, against the better teams.

I hope that Clemens will get more starts at first base as his glove can save runs and in tight games against the better teams that could be crucial. His bat seems better and gives you another lefty stick in the lineup. You can also rest one of your young catcher's instead playing them and use them as a DH, if you want.

If the hitting could be more consistent and a closer is developed, this team could challenge for the Big 12 crown and go far in the post season again.

So now it's on to a four game non-conference road trip. First to Texas State, for the midweek game and then an interesting series against old foe and former Big 12 rival Nebraska, in Lincoln.

Enjoy the present, but keep an eye on the future. Most of all, remember it's baseball and enjoy it all. :hookem2::bevo:

NICE! Encouraging response by the team and relief staff as a whole after dropping a game to UTA which was... concerning to say the least. Time to down the children of the corn next weekend :hookem:

Man NB! You should do this for a living (if you don't). I use Mel Allen's voice when I read your pbp.

This is my option year and I am in deep contract negotiations with Dionysus, as I will become a free agent after this season.

Other boards have offered me a new ergonomic keyboard and a new wireless mouse, that will measured to fit my hand and fingers. One has even said they have techs working feverishly on a backwards K emoticon, to offer for my services.

I am no spring chicken, but even I am not of the Mel Allen generation. I am more of a Vin Scully, (though he did start with Red Barber in Brooklyn) and Harry Caray vintage. I have resisted the temptation to imitate them sometimes.

Such as starting a thread like Vin would. "Good afternoon everybody and welcome to the palatial confines of Disch-Faulk Field, on a gorgeous early spring day. So pull up a chair and stay awhile, as we're just getting started with today's game. The only thing that could make today's game better, would be with a "Farmer John" all beef hot dog. They're just that good."

Maybe go all Harry Caray, after an error. "HEY, he just dropped that easy pop up! How does a guy that was brought up in Texas, lose a ball in the sun?" If he wasn't an underage college student, I would have bet he had one too many Budweiser's on Sixth Street last night. An ice cold Bud sure would go great right now. Budweiser truly is the "King of Beers."

I must weigh all my options very carefully to make a wise decision about my future and the future of my nimble fingers you know. :hookem2:

I am in touch with your agent.

P.S. He said you just wanted a year’s supply of Jiffy Pop popcorn, some Milk Duds and a loofah.

I knew I shouldn't have gone with snek/loop as my agent, but he promised me many princesses if I did. I guess it beats a year's supply of Rice-A-Roni, the San Francisco treat and a complete set of Britannica Encyclopedias, which I thought I would get as parting gifts anyway.

I specifically told the señor comrade to hold out at all cost for the backwards K emoticon. He has been slithering around in too much kek and not taking his meds again no doubt.
