KSU Game 3

I don't think it is killer instinct or anything. Bad luck coming in all kinds of ways. We have had 28 hits yesterday and today, and have pitched decently too. Somehow, things are just not happening properly. Yes, there were some 2 or 3 key at-bats where I wish they hadn't taen a pitch or two, but so many well-hit balls have just not fallen in the right places, and so many similar hits from those guys have fallen at right places. That is baseball. One thing is for sure - all these teams hve had to have so many things go right fo them to beat us. Nobody has been able to dominate this Horns team.

1-2-3 go KSU in the top of the 10th. Now we have one inning to win it or, it will be a tied game.

Preston gone. Kyle Lusson almost beat out a bunt but no. 2 outs.

Torres comes in as the last at-bat. He Ks.

Game ends in a 6-6 tie. Crap.

I still feel like there was a loss of killer instinct. Right, 28 hits should be enough, agreed. The clutch relief pitching was not there when it was needed though. You just HAVE to find a way to win one of these games, IMO. I mean, I don't have to tell the players this, I realize they are feeling WAY worse than I do right now. Let's hope Augie can channel this into another win streak.

OUr games against kansas teams this year: 4 one-run losses, one 2-run loss, and a tie.

Frustrating. It is not like we played badly in all those games either. Not too many errors, solid pitching, and even a lot of hits and walks too. Somehow, the timely good things did not happen, and quite a few timely bad things happened.

On the other hand, I don't remember any team that has had this many bad luck games as this horn team has had. Hopefully that will all even up, and we will have only good luck on the post-season.
