It's been awhile since my last update, but the good news is, My dad is recovering great from his surgeries!

We had a consultation with the Dr. yesterday and he was very encouraged; the latest CT scans confirmed the tumor has not grown since initial diagnosis. This is good news as it gives the doctors more options in the treatment plan.

He began his first chemo treatment last night; the total duration of the drip was about an hour. He initially felt good after the drip but woke up during the night at ~ 2AM and felt like a freight train ran over him. This feeling should pass in a day or two.

His treatment cycle includes the drip once a week for three weeks and an oral medication twice a day for three weeks, then the fourth week will be free and then the cycle will start again. This will systemically treat any "bad" cells in his body, but the specific focus is on shrinking the tumors in the lungs. The doctor will verify (via CT scan) in about 2-3 months if the treatment is working as planned or if we need to take another route to address the situation.

Again, thank you for all of your kind thoughts and prayers, it is definitely making a difference for us!

The power of prayer. Keep us updated. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
