Kerrville QB commits to aggy

The thing that bothers me about this is that Manziel was UT all the way, but thanks to scholarship limits, we just don't have a place for him. I hate to see talent that WANTS to be at UT have to go someplace and play AGAINST UT. Make no mistake...Manziel has a world of talent, whether at quarterback or another position, and I have a nagging feeling that he might make us regret not finding a place for him. Manziel should be a Longhorn...it's that simple.

My wife and I went to her 50th school reunion in Kerrville this weekend and went to the football game Friday night - Kerrville vs Uvalde.

On the first kickoff, Manziel takes the ball and goes 88 yards for a TD. Next possession he dances and twists his way in for another TD. He is fast and shifty and skips away from tacklers while looking for receivers. He is one of the best highschool QBs I have ever seen. But the one thing that impressed me most is his confidence. He never seemed rattled or hurried and always seemed in command. This kid can play and will be real trouble for UT for years. A rocket arm and he is very accurate. He is a leader.

Physically I would guess he is a little over 6 feet. He has long arms I noticed and that may help him with his passing. He could really fire the ball while evading the would-be tacklers. I enjoyed seeing someone that talented but I dread facing him each Thanksgiving for 4 years.

Interestingly Sherman has talked to him in depth about playing the same role as Tannehill. Everyone in the state passed o him as a QB until a and m offered. I know that happened before with a guy named Drew Bees. Just makes one wonder what they see or don't see. No doubt the kid is an athlete. I have heard his height is bout 5'10" from a pretty good source.

"So what was his alternative...coming here to be screwed up by Greg Davis?"

wonderful. We have yet another one of them!
