Keep Coach Gus in your prayers

Get well Gus

Today's AA-S said he's in good spirits after his brain surgery for a blood clot. Should be released this weekend. Deron said Gus is mad because he has to stay in bed three more days and he wants to be out walking!

I saw Coach Gus yesterday afternoon, and he is doing fine, and looks great. He was watching the ASU/Nebraska game when I saw him.

He and his family thank everyone for their thoughts. His main concern Monday was whether his surgery would be complete in time for him to watch the UT / Tulane game, which it was.

I had the chance to get to know Coach Gus a little bit during college. What a great guy he was.

Like everybody else, my thoughts and prayers are with you today, Gus.

(Does anybody know how old he is now?)

They are probably trying to keep him calm with meds. He's getting the game as you know that he will. Get Well,Gus.

Does Gus have internet access from his recovery lab as well as cable TV? How do you like our chances this year, Coach?

Prayers for coach coming from the other side of the planet. Speedy recovery coach.

Coach, you are everything that is good about Texas baseball. I have idolized you since I was a kid. Get well ASAP.

Well, Gus is old school, but if he were REALLY old school, he would have just had someone spit on it and rub some dirt on it instead of all this surgery stuff ....

Seriously, Coach, I hope you are mending fine. You are in my prayers.

Some of my best memories of college are of skipping morning classes to go by Bellmont and just talk baseball for a while with Coach Gus. He always had time for me. I wish him all the best!

Can anyone give all of us a current update on how Gus is doing? I know we all would like to know his progress so if anyone can fill us in, I know it will be greatly appreciated. He has no idea how many people really do care.

Coach Gus is at home now recovering. Word is he's still feeling a little weak and the doctor's have naturally limited his activity but he's feeling better and the overall prognosis looks good. Keep him in your prayers.
