For a number of years I have had a beef with LHN. We are all viewing those OLD commercial time fillers during program breaks with various UT themes:

Fans spot Earl grilling, Ricky reads a poem, Clemons dunk day, Colt thowing footballs at clay disks, Jody C. giving advice, etc. - come on ESPN, for gawd sakes create some new fillers!!!

Also, there must be more Longhorn Legends that can be featured. Certainly more than what we have been seeing for the last 10 years. Let's get Dionysus, Sabre Horn, SpiderAg and TAPS in there!

Try out for prospective on-air talent is the advantage of the LHN for ESPN. The on-air personalities for the $EC are a notch or two higher mostly for the reasons discussed below.

With the financial performance of ESPN/Disney lately, I would not hold my breath. ESPN probably would not have invested in the LHN now for purely financial reasons; not for the poor play on the field. DeLoss knew what he was doing with the contract by basically insisting on guaranteed returns.

On the Conference networks, one of the reasons the $EC Network is surviving is the constant $EC propaganda on ESPN and CBS about the strength of the conference the effect of which is ad rates staying up. However, advertisers slowly are concluding that based on conference and bowl records against Power 5 schools, it is Alabama; 2 slightly better than average teams (LSU and Georgia); and 10 pretenders which inflates the basic strength of the Conference. Look for hard negotiations when that contract comes up especially when the Alabama run ends. The ACC contract which is heavily weighted to streaming seems to be a better model for the commercial networks.

Seems like it would give the RTF program at Texas a huge leg up on all the competition in the entire word, but I am not sure they take full advantage.

Agree Joe. Wasting an advantage doesn't speak well for the decision-makers as one doesn't waste advantages and aways exploit the opponent's weaknesses.

Doesnt it seem like having an actual production facility right there to work on and at every day would be the greatest thing in the universe for someone looking to go into that business? Forget the sports limitation, just all of it.

Looks like she's now with Good Morning America. Sad she has to share air time with George Snufalufagus.
 
I had a younger guy standing close behind me in the return line in Costco. I had to turn to him and say, "You know I am 6' tall and if I fall over and can hit you, you are standing too close."

I cannot wait until all the new cases swell in a couple of weeks when the Spring Breakers return home to infect their local populations starting with their family and friends. Sigh.
