One of the women who works in my office here on campus came very close to dyeing June a year ago. She was saved by a liver transplant. She felt like she'd been given a miracle and became a much better person. She is now in the hospital again because they have found cancer in her new liver. Because of the imunosupresent therapies necessary for the success of the transplant, she would probably not survive chemo or radiation therapies. It doesn't look good. We are praying that she remains free from pain and that she continues to find peace in this difficult time.

Update:

Karen has been moved to hospice care. Her attitude is still pretty good but occasionaly the morphine makes her a little difficult. She has been able to get her affairs in order and has enjoyed the company of family and friends. We expect her time with us to be fairly short but pray that it will be as peaceful and pain free as possible. Unless, of course, God decides to give her another miracle. Always a possibility, of course.

Thank you for your prayers.

All things are possible through Christ. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is alive on the earth today.

Grace and Peace!
