Kaneisha Horn visiting TX

numbers wise, I think we got room for her for the next two years (she would be #15 this year) and Texas would still have the flexibility to sign one more in 2014.

Honestly, I don't know why we should be excited about this player. She's not what we need, short run or long run. She's a 6 1" post. We already have two potential all conference players on our front line, with two more posts arriving in our freshman class. We will be the number one rebounding team in the Big 12 this year; and our inside scoring will be terrific. What we need is guards and swing players who can shoot jump shots. Long ago in high school Horn was rated as a top prospect; but she's had two operations and recurrent knee problems. Her stats are solid but unspectacular, and she's not an offensive force. She might be a good back up, but she really doesn't add that much. We'll only have her for two years anyway. I'm not saying she's bad, only that her potential contribution doesn't seem worth one of our last remaining scholarships. Wouldn't it be better to hold it in case we have a chance to get a hotter prospect?

I agree with Dr. D. Coupled with her no decision on which school to play for, or to remain at Alabama, it might be wise for UT to continue the hunt for hidden gems.

While i haven't seen Kaneisha play, I will trust our coaches with their pursuit. While our frontcourt is strong with Imani and Nneka, the depth is thin and unproven. Remember what Kansas did to us in Lawrence when Nneka was suspended? Gigi and Anne Marie also missed significant playing time due to injuries. All it takes is one injury to a starter . . .

Good. Nothing against her, but we didn't really need her and she wouldn't have helped us that much. We can use that scholarship for a better player.

Best of luck to Kaneisha at USC!
